About 200 England fans then attacked anything in their way while walking to the ground. It was pretty bad. The papers the next day showed England fans rioting after the game - more fights with police. That was my first England away game.

Bloody brillant. I would have thought it would have taken either us (the irish), the Welsh or the Scots to come up with the best catch phrase for beating the English. But no! That honour goes to Norway. "You're boys took a hell of a beating!" Thank you Norway!

@aijaijvagrarfettbra You have to remember that at this time Norway were only part-timers. It'd be the equivalent of the Faroe Islands beating France or Italy today.

Apart from the obligatory, South American "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!", it must hyave:Flemming Toft and Preben Elkjaer from the Euro finals in 1992; Kennith Wolsenholme at Wembley in the World Cup,1966; and it MUST!!! have "Maggie Thatcher, can you hear me? i posted a video on youtube asking for english pundits to be controlled during the world cup but i said that i didnt mind a commentator getting carried away with the emotion of the match and being biased towards england. no problems there at all and i have no problem with this dude either. he is emotional and getting carried away. its memorable and brilliant.

I love Britain! I know that there is alot of brits that has norwegian ancestry from the viking ages. and norwegians fought alongside british in the battle of britain and many other WW2 battles and our cultures has alot in common. It's just great.
