@lpgas1 - most of the figures I can find, including from Merc 6.3 enthusiast websites, give a top speed of between 220-229km/h. The GTHO with the rev limited disabled (as was common) would do 250. The Merc is a lovely car, but the GTHO was the fastest 4-door production sedan in the world.

No Mercedes has a lot to answer for. I have a book with the tech specs from the car in question and it is a factory merc book. sorry for stating a fact. If you don't want to do your research before shooting your mouth off that is fine with me. I wish the XY was the fastest that year It is an awesome car and very fast but the merc was built for the AUTO BARN and it could cruise at 240km/h with 5 people. all facts. This is the last I am saying on the topic so say what you will!

So clearly if a manual says your car is faster than anyone else's, it is. I understand this and I'm sure everyone else will now fall into line, after all, "on paper my car wins" is a tried and true method of winning races and drags around the world.

The new 2012 Falcon is a crossbreed between the front fascia of the Focus and the tail end of the Taurus. While under the bonnet it is quite impressive, the styling leaves little to be desired compared to the marvels of the GTHO Phase III. Redesign the new Falcon to look more like the GTHO Phase III to capture the spirit of the Falcon, an Aussie muscle car, rather than creating an impressive Euopean-esque sleeper sedan which it resembles today.

I Love this Australian Falcon... Very very beautiful, excellent lines, excellent performance, excellent engine (Powerful V8 351)...Awesome sedan... I would love to have to take the kids to school when we get home later! ha ha ha ha

@MrSnowlife have a look at Chryslers race history in new Zealand an then you will understand why it was nice of ford and holden to let Chrysler race at bathurst. whopty doo 302 hp out of a hemi 6, 14.4seconds on the quarter this is because Chrysler Australia were not allowed to race a V8s let alone a 4 speed manual. the E55 is a joke when it comes to Australian race history. if Chrysler had 4speed v8 and ford had a hot 6 with a 3 speed history would be very different ,i agree coupes better

the Valiant R/T Charger out performs and out classes the GTHO in every way everyone knows a true muscle car is a coupe 4 doors is a family car look at all the great American Muscle cars the Charger camaro challenger corvette mustang etc...all coupes! sure the GT has a great race history here in OZ but It really gets alot more hype than it deserves. and the thing is it's really just a falcon anyone can make a replica and most are. you can't turn a 4 door val into a charger. HEY CHARGER!!
