The 4483 non-walking version is much more detailed than the walking version. I was just impressed that LEGO was able to get this AT-AT to walk and have the head move all with one small motor!
Unfortunately. The majority of the body is taken up by the gears that make the AT-AT walk. There are also two figures (the driver and General Veers) that sit in the cockpit.
With LEGO's new Power Functions motors, they have both a remote control and receiver. I simply added these to the existing Power Functions motor that's on the AT-AT.
lol i bought that thing when it was cheap and it was like 80 bucks for 1 and i bought about 10 spent alot but so worth it i mean like u just have little wars and they run into each other
I just used the remote control and receiver from the Monster Dino lego set. I just mounted the receiver at the back of the AT-AT. As you can see, it works really well!
to anyone dissing the walking mechanism of the toy, look at how they walked in the movie. lol. looks close enough to me.

I have the non-moving variant of this set, and although it looks impressive the walking mechanism leaves a lot to be desired.

Yes, it really is quite an achievement, considering it's just bricks and batteries!

Cool, who needs a dog?
Taking your imperial warmachine for a walk sounds lot more fun.

How did you modify it to work on remote control? I must know! PLEASE RESPOND A.S.A.P.
(I actually have my own Motorized AT-AT but mine is modified to hold 9-10 minifigs)
