BA! a BMW is like Volkswagen is like Audi is like Opel. A Honda is like Toyota is like Nissan. A Saab is a SAAB never like another and always different. Dont forget Saab put much more into engine technology than any other company with the APC system and developing a turbo charged system for EVERYDAY USE. they stuck with 4 cylinder turbo engines when every one else went to a V6. So to me a Saab is a smart car just cuz its the only one who thought out side the box from day one with everything!:)

Ha this car will out run a 850R ... one the 850 R weighs a ton! like its fuckin heavy! .. the 9-3 doesn't have alot of weight so its faster on the long haul. thats it. cuz its gonna need all its power to haul its self down the line and the 9-3 well Viggen anyway has a good sharp torque band and would gladly take on ur 850 R :P

11 sec is damn fast! especially for a fwd car! This is a street legal car, not a dragracer... like the civics which have drag tyres', shitty suspension, all thing not needed for driving 1/4 mile is removed! what's the point of just taking the car to the dragrace track where a bunch og 50-60 year old men are gathererd? This is about cars made for street racing, straight roads, curby roads, and different types of track racing and fun :)

The reason hondas run faster with less hp is because they are much lighter in weight. Saabs have crumple zones and even stripped to nothing weigh 2400lbs. Hondas can easily run in the 1500lb range, its simple power to weight. This car ran 10.42 at 142mph. Saabs also make huge torque and will beat many cars on the road from a roll, its something that has to be experienced.

@Supersupra87 only a very few true tuner/race civics or acruas run that fast on a N/A setup. the only reason alot dont is because of the motors tendency to be weak (and people dont know what theyre doing) and dont like a whole lot of power but it can be done with the right engine like the b18 or k20 but after dumping enough money into it to buy a 11second car in the first place really. the stanard for civics in the USA are 18 seconds hahahaha X^D

vtec is good really mostly with forced induction but they tend to blow up :/ but if you get a legit one which are hard to come by! then yea you can have a beast on your hands! i preffer awd dsm's no traction issues what so ever! :D

There is indeed a Saab that goes under 10s, yes. But it's modded for using an Audi 4WD drivetrain. And yes it uses a Saab 2 litre 16V turbo engine. Search for Gustav N Saab and you should find it.
