women generally don't like sports as much as men. that doesn't mean they don't like them, just not in the numbers that guys do. think i am wrong? Why has the WNBA never really taken off. they don't have the support that the NBA does. Where does the NBA get its fans, generally men.

That one really hit me close to home. I'll start discussing sports and get these blank stares from guys. They say, "I've never met a girl who knew that much about sports" or "How did you get so into sports?"

I DON'T KNOW, DUDE....that's just how I roll. And as for the future of women in sports broadcasting, I plan to break the mold and eventually be the first woman to do play-by-play for MLB games. Nothing would make me happier than to do that for a living.

Newsflash... You wouldn't be the first woman to do play-by-play for MLB. Gayle Gardner did it for the Colorado Rockies in 1993. And current Yankee color commmentator Suzyn Waldman did play-by-play for the yankees in the mid-90s. Good to see you know your history. Waldman is also known for being one of the worst in the business. She is blatantly biased on the air, over-dramatizes calls, and has cried on the air. Hopefully you don't follow in her footsteps. :)

Women really aren't moving up in sports broadcasting. They are sideline reports and thats about it. Does any of the NFL pregame or halftime shows feature any women analysts? Nope, and they never will. Any women doing play by play(besides the lame one on ESPN)? Basically none are. I think its great you like watching the game, I love girls that like sports, but they aren't moving up in broadcasting because they NEVER PLAYED THE GAME.

Most of the time we(men) are not paying attention to womens sports, or the women that talk about sports. Why? Because women sports are inferior to mens sports. Please don't take this as an insult, or to mean spirited attitude, but it is difficult for a man to take a woman serious, especially when the female sport is less than equal to a mans.
