I notice that the plane was really long time on the way from the airport to take off. Maybe it had lots of people in it & heavy baggage... Anyways great vid !
I agree with you. As a metter of fact, I fly the A330/A340 and to be honest with you, I prefer the A340. A330 is of course a better climber, but the A340 because of it's size.
I trust Airbus so much more than Boeing. Didn't used to think so, but after flying on A300/20/40 craft and comparing with transatlantic flights on the Boeing 737/47, I found Airbus so much quieter and comfortable. I thought I was scared of flying in the old days. Perhaps I was scared of Boeing!
You're telling me! The take off and climb rate are scary. I have been on board and watched as an observer, and it seems as if you just stagger around after leaving the runway trying to gain altitude. I was on the freeway near Dulles one day and saw one leaving the ground in front of me, and I was almost certain it was going to fall.
The A343 is alot quieter than you might expect it to be. It surprised me how quiet it was compared to what i was expecting the first time i flew on it.
HI...a stupid question, do they sell these sleazy headphones in emirate flights? cause i m gonna fly next wednesday with emirates and would like to watch tv, listen to music or sth. like that. :D ...
Hi. i have traveled by emirates on numerous occasions and it is a fantastic airlines. I have noticed that while take-off they always lower first degree of flaps. My best guess is that it is to increase the surgace area of the wings to create more lift. correct me if im wrong. Thankyou !
gentlemen it was a normal takeoff and as you say the runway is long so he doesn't need to takeoff fast and about the climb it's also normal because the caotain controls the pitch it's ok if the captain lowered the pith i sometimes takeoff like this
The wingspan of the A330 and A340 are identical my friend. Trying to impress? As a matter of fact the only real difference between the A330-300 and the A340-300 is the number of engines.
If you're thinking you're such an expert, it can be easily explained if you take a peak at wikipedia.
this is the main difference, but not the only one. there are other differences too.
Firstly: the a330-300 has lower range compared to A340-300 Secondly: the a330-300 rear landing gear consists of 8 wheels, though the a340-300 rear landing gear consists of 10 wheels and finally,
the a340-300 has a higher maximum take-off weigh than the a330-300...
I'm sorry but this is an A340-300. It's not an A330. The wing chord is shallower on the A340 and the winglets are slightly wider. The flaps extend further on the 340 also.
Also, if you look at the landing video from this flight, you can blatantly see the outboard engines behind the 2nd wing spar.
I think I know more about aviation than you, so please shut up.This is an a 340-300 ex SIA, and if you would check the EK timetable, you would mention that no A330 is flying to EDDF anymore. Please don't try to correct my anymore.
This is indeed an A330. Compare this to another video showing a cathay A340-300 "Cathay Pacific Airbus A340-300 takes off" by bowenchau on youtube. Both are taken at almost the same seat and you can clearly see the outboard engine in an A340-300. But in this video, the outboard engine is not present at all, meaning this is the twin engined A330. Emirates has a huge fleet, and it should not be surprising if they do some swaps now and then.
What was your seatnumber?

I used to fly the A340 previously for Cathay pacific.
I must be truthful, it is a powerful and massive aircraft which is good, but the climb rate is dreadful!!!!
It seems as if it climbs 1,050 fph(ft per hour) lol

wow how much runway did that aircraft need!!!!!
also it's rate of climb was so slow

most probably it is an a330 coz the wingspan is very short and the most important u must see the second engine too but i didnt
