  • life is a very sad place to live

  • A special human being. I wish I was half as good.

  • RIP Paul Eddington... a class act...and a real gent!

  • моё сердце болит! зачем такому чудесному человеку это испытание! Пол Эддингтон всегда в моём сердце!

  • What a genuinely lovely man, if there were more people like Paul Eddington in the world, the world would be a much nicer and kinder place to live in, a real class act:-))))))))

  • I would like to echo the warm comments made by others.

Paul Eddington (Jim) took Sir Humphrey’s Downing Street key off him today (on UK Gold) – much to the horror of Bernard who had then to deal with Appleby’s temper!

Pure comedy and as funny today as it was all those years ago!

I am very sad that this man left us too early.

    God bless him.

  • Thanks for uploading this, i actually never knew he had passed away........

So sad to see him like that at the end, but great to see he kept his faith.

    God Bless him.

  • Very sad at the end but what an inspirational guy

  • Grew up with Tom, Barbara, Jerry and Margo playing every Sunday on our local PBS station. Always had a school girl crush on Paul Eddington- and it hasn't diminished over the years. RIP, sweet man.

  • He maybe did not think of himself as brave but he was. What a lovely man. God rest him.

  • why does the video stop working @ 2:02 ? I can not seem to make it work after that point.

  • Paul Eddington was a remarkable individual and actor.

  • very moving story.

what a beautiful actor and brave person he was.

thank you for posting this video!

  • a class bloody act

  • One of my favourite actors ever...sadly missed.

  • Knowing that he would not live long anymore, Paul Eddington suggested that his Epitaph should say of himself: "HE DID VERY LITTLE HARM". This is a wise person's final wish !

  • So sad, What a great humble man, one of a kind :)

  • i appreciate his courage to face the cancer that is one of the most challenge to human beings.

  • The interview on Face to Face appeared on TV less than a week before he died. It appeared on BBC on October 30, 1995 and Eddington died on November 4, 1995.

  • You are greatly misse Paul, thank you for all the talented wonderful moments you left for posterity. Make them laugh up there!

  • Just been watching a repeat Christmas episode of the Good Life, and remembered this wonderful interview. Very special interview. Very special man.

  • what a wonderful and beautiful man xxxx

  • Oh God, I love that man from the core of my heart. Why do good people leave us so quickly...Not only in Britain, he was similarly popular in Pakistan n people strongly believe to this day that he was a real minister figure....May he live in peace...Ameen....

  • What a man. what a man.

  • I remember seeing a rerun of that Face to Face Interview on television about 8 years ago (maybe on the BIO or History Channel?) - does anyone know where to get it.

Still one of the most beautiful and inspirational things I've ever seen.

  • Wish that, though my tears, I could give an adequate response....not only did you make me laugh; with this last interview, you made me humble. Thank you Mr Eddington.

  • Lovely man, a gentleman and gave so much pleasure - I love Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister. That face to face interview moved me to tears. Rest in peace you good man.

  • A brilliant actor and a great human being loved by millions of people.

  • Thankyou so much for posting this.

  • i am from Pakistan. I grew up watching Yes prime minister that started airing in Pakistan during Benazir Bhuttos first regime in the early 90's. Paul was a great actor. May he rest in peace!

  • Thanks.

  • Mr Eddington, you did very little harm...and you brought tremendous joy. You are missed to this day. May your God cradle you.

  • So incredibly sad... a wonderful man and a superb actor who will always be missed.

  • oh Dear Paul. thank You. for Such Beauty and for Your Gifts.

i shall forever remember You stuck on London bridge, in the garden with that great plaster on- stuck right in to the muck, and always- Your Amazing endurance- and great Loyalty and Love.

oh that i could Ever have such a Friend as You again!

enjoy Your time now, Dear One.

You deserve to be Joyful and at peace!

    we'll Never forget You, Friend.

  • Even though cancer had ravaged His face,The warmth and kindness shines through His eyes.

  • @phononut Beautifully put!

  • Wonderful man. Nobody should have to go through what he went through. His face at that last interview brought tears to my eyes.

  • Another wonderful human being who didn't deserve any of the suffering he had to endure; this brought tears to my eyes.

  • oh, i've just discovered the Good life series, about a week ago and i like it sooo much. i can't believe poor old dear Jerry is dead.... saaaaddd.

  • what an actor he was ..yes prime minister is my fav sitcom of all time ...farewell jim hacker

  • He was so beautiful in every way. I fell in love with him in The Good Life, he was amazing.

  • What a sweet man. He was fantastic as Jerry in The Good Life, and in Yes, Minister. May he rest in peace.

God, how I've LOVED Felicity Kendal from across the pond for 25 years - and seeing that little lady looking so adorable in this tribute will do nothing to end the anguish......;o)

  • he died 6 days after the face to face interview

  • A life well-lived/a good man/strongmarriage/lovely friends n'family.

This biog is xtra special 2-me: I too was a little Quaker girl -- it's amazing to learn he was a Quaker also.

His rare form of skin cancer struck 'home' with me as well as my own beautiful Mother courageously suffered a similarly rare & fatal form of that melanoma (RIP 1975).

I very much appreciate what our Mr. Eddington had to cope with. Bless him & his sweet wife, Patricia.

    //>_>\\

  • Such a brave man, and a brilliant actor, RIP :'(

  • haha! forgive me Minister...

  • Paul was a pacifist. My father was one too. Both died of cancer... it's seems that the good always go too soon...

  • Very sad indeed. How ironic that it should be released in the year of Nigel Hawthorne's own death.

  • Wonderful actor

  • So young, so talented, so sad.

  • Yes Prime Minister!

  • what a great actor
