the equalizer is how much sound you want to come out at that lv high mid and low usially rangeing from 0-200% generally u kill the bass cause u dont wanna hear your hand slapping the record. and this will give u that nice mid high scratch noise. the X fader is just used as a way to on/off the sound of the record, and it should be very sensitive so its full on at 2mm in and off when locked on the side spot. if u got any other questions gimme a shout. (10 year turntablist) have fun. :)
