Lol. Gaming isn't for "nerds". But it is for a specific crowd of people. When you start making games for casual gamers, your games start sucking.

Then you try making games for both casual gamers and hardcore gamers. Here's the difference: Hardcore gamers prefer HARDCORE, CHALLENGING GAMES THAT CASUAL GAMERS COULD NEVER POSSIBLY PLAY. Casual gamers prefer almost every type of game as long as the difficulty isn't too severe.

Stephen Colvin may be the guy who got him sacked. He was transfered to gamespot's management a month before Gerstmann Gate after working for Dennis Publishing who owned mags like Maxim. Man, this man was nothing more then an honest critic, who gave us the well informed information needed to make decisions on game purchasing. Wherever Jeff goes, I'll probably follow. From the speculation I've read and trust most, the shady goings-on that surrounded this whole ordeal is truly maddening. I was a happy paid subscriber to GameSpot, because I believed in the site. Since CNET has taken over the site has...changed. I don't foresee that I will continue to pay for my subscription, frankly because I don't want money dictating my reviews.

Jeff you need to start your own website. A site without corporate sponsors and dedicated to unbiased, honest reviews. Get Greg Kasavin, Rich Gallup, Alex Navarro, Ryan Davis, Brian Ekberg, Bob Calyco, Carrie Gouskous, that southern guy, and all the rest to join you. You will destroy gamespot overnight. Game sites are about the talent of the journalists more than anything else. If gamespot can't recognize that, they dont deserve to exist.

Greg K leaves, then the new review system is put in place, then Rich Gallup leaves OTS, and now Jeff being fired. Gamespot used to be my favorite website, but too much crap has happened.

I hope Jeff joins a new site, one where he can freely voice his opinions on games and help gamers pick their purchases without the fear of being sacked.
