  • CBS had pretty much ruled the roost in the 70's,but it was probably around 1977(the promo year featured here)where ABC gained steam and eventually dethroned them.Keep in mind that CBS had all their Norman Lear creations still on the air then.

  • This was when ABC had balls

  • best network promo EVER!!!!!!!!!!

  • Good stuff, I want a Tab now.

  • Orleans. How COULD you?

  • Every damn 70's commercial had an annoying jingle or tune.

  • golden days of good tv

  • Remember when ABC was Da Bomb?

  • I'm sitting in the den in late August '77 dreading going back to school in another week.

  • @dillmanbradford - Hilarious! How many of us get that same vibe when we see and hear this? It does trigger flashbacks. I watched ABC all the time in the 70s and this and others promos really take me back. Thanks Youtube!

  • @ 2:11, that says it all for the late 70,s-lookin at hotties like this ,and being 10 ....

  • I am eleven years old here. I remember this very well.

  • Wow, Tuesday was the Shit :)))

  • Woman on the right with armpit hair at 0:35 .... cannot unwatch!

70's Why no U shave back then?

  • @zetareticuli4 We didn't have razor blades back then.

  • Feels like a Pepsi commercial.

  • wtf happen to tv ..no saturday mornings cartoon nobody want to watch the damn news on saturday morning .....one more realilty tv show and ill vomit .. damn tv shows suck who picks them out fire that bitch and get real ppl off the street to pick

  • Why do advertisers buy songs they think will help them sell (in this case, Orleans "Still The One") then insist on just using some watered-down bs version of it? Who likes this music? It's not like the Cowsills were exactly the biggest group of all time, so why try to make your ad sound like it was recorded by Up With People?!

  • TV in the 70's was amazing. There was always something on & everybody talked about it the next day. I haven't watched broadcast TV since December & for the most part, I can't even see a reason to plug my TV back in, until I get my PS3.

  • ABC Slogn for 2011-12: ♪We're NOT the one 'cause we got rid of AMC and OLTL♪ ♪We're NOT the one 'cause "The Chew" and "The Revolution" will suck♪ ♪Brian Frons is a retard so we're NOT one♪ ♪We're NOT the one 'cause Mickey Mouse dead♪ ♪We're NOT the one 'cause he shot him self when watched Disney Jr.♪ ♪it's ALL Anne Sweeney & Bob Iger fault so We're NOT the one♪ ♪ABC is going down tubes♪ ♪CBS and the Talk will joining♪ ♪NBC will dancing on thier graves♪ ♪ABC WE'RE NOT THE ONE♪
  • @Digifan23 You're an idiot. CBS cancelled its two old soaps and its still the number one network. You need to deal with the fact that no one but losers, morons, and fat people watch moronic soap operas. That's why they're getting cancelled.

  • Man I miss the 70's

  • God i'm glad I didn't grow up in the 70's. That must have been a nightmare ad to have to deal with...

  • @Baltimoreman78 It was lol.

  • @Baltimoreman78 I recall they only showed this ad a couple of times during the summer to remind TV audiences of the new fall season. The fact that so many aspects of the media today make references or parady

the 70s is a good indicator of the lasting impact the decade has made on our culture.

  • @Baltimoreman78 I wish I grew up in the 70s instead of being born in the late 70s.

  • ABC Friday night movie is already

replaced and change to Prime time live

  • "You're Still Having Fun, 11 Alive's The One" WXIA-TV Atlanta, Georgia (now an NBC affiliate)

  • 2:09 is all you need to know about how Fred Silverman turned ABC around

  • "We're Still Having Fun, TV-6's The One Still The One" WBRC-TV Birmingham, AL

  • One thing that's a bit odd about this promo: it doesn't show any clips of ABC's then-current programming!

  • @mdumas43073 I think the idea was that they show people who looked to the ABC programs. And they all look happy to me :)

  • @mdumas43073 I know. I remember this when I was 11. I said that back then too.

  • @mdumas43073 yeah it's all about the number 1...

  • @mdumas43073 Are you kidding? Starting at :15 - The Partridge Family, Room 222, Owen Marshal, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Odd Couple...

  • @mdumas43073 That's not odd, it's the whole theme of the commercial. Showing all the old shows that were popular on ABC.... hinting that the new ones would be good, since they were "Still the one".

  • I LOVE these videos! Keep em' coming!!!

  • in 1978, it was copied by the Nine Network in Australia.

  • If the networks still did these promo's it would have some annoying gangsta rap song playing the background.

  • @WildBill6942 or some American Chopper tackey-metal grunt

  • @WildBill6942 yes, very true. Very down to earth in 1977. Now very getto gangsta

  • @WildBill6942 or dubstep

  • i remember seeing in 1994 on abc were they did something with hot air ballons as well

  • There was a similar promo with a hot air balloon...1980?

  • @gswoop40 1979-1980

  • Although ABC was the #1 network during the 1969-70 season, this season marked a renaissance season for ABC!

  • haha never heard this before but i love it
