CBS had pretty much ruled the roost in the 70's,but it was probably around 1977(the promo year featured here)where ABC gained steam and eventually dethroned them.Keep in mind that CBS had all their Norman Lear creations still on the air then.
@dillmanbradford - Hilarious! How many of us get that same vibe when we see and hear this? It does trigger flashbacks. I watched ABC all the time in the 70s and this and others promos really take me back. Thanks Youtube!
wtf happen to tv ..no saturday mornings cartoon nobody want to watch the damn news on saturday morning .....one more realilty tv show and ill vomit .. damn tv shows suck who picks them out fire that bitch and get real ppl off the street to pick
Why do advertisers buy songs they think will help them sell (in this case, Orleans "Still The One") then insist on just using some watered-down bs version of it? Who likes this music? It's not like the Cowsills were exactly the biggest group of all time, so why try to make your ad sound like it was recorded by Up With People?!
TV in the 70's was amazing. There was always something on & everybody talked about it the next day. I haven't watched broadcast TV since December & for the most part, I can't even see a reason to plug my TV back in, until I get my PS3.

@Digifan23 You're an idiot. CBS cancelled its two old soaps and its still the number one network. You need to deal with the fact that no one but losers, morons, and fat people watch moronic soap operas. That's why they're getting cancelled.
@Baltimoreman78 I recall they only showed this ad a couple of times during the summer to remind TV audiences of the new fall season. The fact that so many aspects of the media today make references or parady
the 70s is a good indicator of the lasting impact the decade has made on our culture.
@mdumas43073 That's not odd, it's the whole theme of the commercial. Showing all the old shows that were popular on ABC.... hinting that the new ones would be good, since they were "Still the one".
