Goe bain aa! Can you post a video showing a normal ger being dismantled, with flooring and personal possesions etc. This ger was the smallest ger I have ever seen and had no flooring.
I just put up my own Ger in my backyard for the first time. They are SO beautiful...
This is actually a combination of a Mongolian Ger and a Kyrgyzian Ger (the Tonoo e.g) and it has nog Bagan. Too small for living in it, but still pretty. and @ SirianKings, yes way too much work for a tent, but so little work for a house!!! Just over ten minutes!
I'm dreaming about a yurt in my backyard (if I had one...) as a chillout place, surrounded by a garten setup according to "permaculture" by Sepp Holzer.
Look his name upon YT, if you love life close to nature you will love permaculture. Holzer speaks german, but there are docus in english.
i love mongolia.. went there last summer and stayed in a ger for two night.. unfortunally there was a BIG storm that killed 22 people.. and out ger didnt make it:S
it is pretty small ger. we usually size it by the number of the folding walls. it seems like it has 2 separate walls. common people have 5 wall ger, i believe.
5 people have slept in both a ger and normal bedroom.. gaahh, you smell like a sheep for days after

"otaa" in old turkic and "chader"(chat-er) in anatolian turkish.
yurt or ger ("yer" in anatolian turkish) also mean home, place or land in turkish.

yurt means land in turkic > it was adapted wrongly as felt tent in russian language.
in turkic languages the "felt tent" > kigiz öy, kigiz üy - kigiz means felt - üy,uy, öy means home, tent, house
