  • Now that I see them playing it on stage, I realized it sounds similar to "Hard To Explain" by the Strokes... I think they may have been Pretenders fans.

  • I love Hynde but, Dig Adam Seymour on Guitar.

    That's showmanship

  • me encantan sus canciones a pesar que no son de mi epoca ...

  • I'd love to see a Duet with Crissie and Johnnette from Croncrete Blonde, that would be.................

  • chissie hynde, ela ainda esta c o jim kerr ? algem sabe dizer?

  • Oh, man. When she sways her hips at :38 I have heart palpitations.

  • Live in New Zealand ,then the next song was going to be Divinyls song.

I thought Chrissie hated Chistene Amphlett ,but Preteneders where inluenced by The Divinyls anyway . .

  • @greg0058 its the other way around the divinyls were a pretenders clone the pretenders did one devinyls song human [I found that devinyls record in a garage sale ] its like when roger mcguinn did an american girl by tom petty cause it was an imitation of him and the byrds

  • love it

  • Look at Chrissie's stage presence at 3:00 ... what an amazing woman!!

  • @marcdrumz

I agree, Chrissie certainly is comfortable playing live and interacting with the audience.

  • Thanks for posting, I enjoyed this video. I love Chrissie Hynde's voice, both when she's singing and when she's talking. Why is Martin Chambers (drummer) behind plexiglas screens? Did the band have a high incidence of the audience throwing objects at the stage?

  • @poopologist96 I tink it's got something to do with acoustics, but that's just a wild guess.

  • @yeahnahsweetas

Thanks for your response. You are correct about the screens' use for acoustics, as marcdrumz outlined below.

  • @poopologist96 ...nope- it's called a "sound screen", and helps with certain drum overtones when playing live...Keeps them from 'bleeding' into the sound mix. i used to use one back in the eighties, as well.

  • @marcdrumz

Thanks much for your informative response. I only now recall seeing similar screens used by drummers in 1-2 videos of bands recording in the studio, but never in a live concert setting, despite attending many rock-pop concerts in auditoriums and clubs until 1996.

  • @poopologist96 .........No sweat, bro- yeah, they weren't a real big hit ...go figure!! Rock on..

  • very nice song

  • wish she would have kept this line up.this group is the only one that looks like they are having fun.

  • @chasf55 Adam Seymour was amazing.

  • A classic, Chrissie Hynde what a song writer! found a great new cover by Liza Wolfe. Better than Lily Allens

  • always good, that guitarist looks not dissimilar to Dave Stewart

  • she has a great voice

  • She could have gone solo and be Chrissie Hynde the rock star but she stuck with her band. I'm sure people would want to put her up in a pedestal and be introduced as Chrissie Hynde and the Pretenders but no, just Pretenders.

What a lesson on humility. Way to go Ms. Hynde!

  • I love it !

    She's so Great and Shining.

  • Chrissy the MILF.

She looks better as a 40-something, fat-thighed mom of a teenager plus than perhaps other days.

But hey, don't get me wrong.

  • ooohhh she's sooo cutee <3 luv her!!

  • she still got that energy and ... THAT voice

  • She is so Pretty isnt she dolls , i just love her

  • muito bommmmm!!!

  • I've seen them live and all were amazing. Chrissie gave me chills (as always), she was amazing! They put on a great show filled with old memories, new material and a lot of joy in doing what they do. She's taught me soooo much, vocally and musically! One of my all-time favorite women in rock!!! What an inspiration...thanks for the post!

  • Great Post

    sexy bass player

nice guitar - giving us the album sound, but more

    and Chrissy..

  • HA! She kills this live...sings her ass off!!!

  • I simply love her. She is divine, and so are her lyrics.

  • I saw them yesturday fantastic show....I stood a yard and a half away from the drummer I would have talked to them but I had nothing to say...

  • Chrissie handed me her guitar pick at Fillmore ...where they rocked the house! Looking forward to Saratoga Mountain Winery in August 09

  • saw her last week in berlin,i talked with the drummer, she gave no autographs, into the bus and away.she rockt me at my shoulder,i love her.....(great show it was)

  • When I was a bike courier I once dropped off a mirror for CH in North London.

  • Wow, this is brill! :) (I never knew there was a New Plymouth =/

  • wonderful Chrissie!

  • So much of Chrissie's music has disappeared from Youtube scardy cats recently. Hey, I understand. The music must be *sold*. Wait a sec, I want the visuals just as much. Don't you want love to watch her perform as well as sing? And, see the band, sadly some long gone? Wtf. Bring it back. So much is gone from Youtoob. Sad sad

  • Great musician! Great human being!

  • 30 years of OWN BUILD GETTING ME WRONG ALL THE TIME, well I offer this song to the ex-wild-horses - at least I hope so- of the staatsveilgheid

  • great!

  • I love Chrissie

  • That drummer's got some nice arms :-D

  • Ooo, Martin has always had amazing arms. Best rock and roll drummer ever.

  • Chrissie Hynde, from Akron Ohio.. Love her voice! Thanks.. great song !

  • Original being from Michigan, I guess I could forgive her for being from OHIO... LOL.... I love her VOICE!!!!

  • greta thank you for this video one of my favourites

    by The Pretenders

  • He is behind the screen probably so Chrissie doesn``t get her ears blown out

  • its really so the sound of the drums don't bleed into her microphone and cause some iffy sounds in her mic. There are other ways around it...but they prefer that way

  • chrissie hynde is from ohio. US.

  • canadian? uhhh, no. but she sorta looks like my girl friend

  • oops spell check argh u know wot i meants !!!

  • no its because his in new zealand !!!

  • Chrissie Hinde is a DEAD sexy Canadian.

    Bernard

  • She is one of the greats!!

  • Great footage.

You wouldn't happen to have any other videos from the show would you?

  • and to the bloke who filmed it, best camera work i ve ever seen from a mobile phone

  • that ain't no mobile phone

  • man, is the weather that good in England in Feb to have outdoor shows?

  • It's summer in Feb. NZ is on the opposite side of the planet to England! ;)

  • Well GUHH!!!..jeez, all I read was New Plymouth and I immediately went to England... I mean, it only says LIVE IN NEW ZEALAND in huge letters at the top of the page, but whenever I see or hear Chrissie I sort'a lose it for I love her dearly

  • and I forgot to thank you for correcting me and making me look like the apparent idiot I probably am.

  • Don't worry about it mate, if we didn't make mistakes life would be dull!

  • I can't believe how well a little camcorder captured the magic of this performance.

    Wonderful, really refreshing.

  • mmmmmm........... great performance, brilliant song.

  • Babys got BUTT! man she look GOod with them big ole legs...I like it...she can strangle me wit dem big thighs...I still like her...no matta how fat she get...
