did they really say that negroes have smaller blood vessels?? wtf??! anything to keep us chocolate people down. smh Im a 23 year old first year medical resident(of proud haitian descent) and can vouch that that is not true. smh
Let it be known to all that read these words..bigots and non-bigots alike..never have we had in the anals of history, a group of braver men. These incredibly brave African American warriors were laughed at, mocked, even physically beaten by their own white countrymen. They endured all this yet prevailed to serve their country! So racists, bow your heads in shame! For we shall never see the likes of these extraordinary supermen ever again... the legendary elite warriors... The Tuskegee Airmen!
Pause at 6:27...look at Fishborne's face, that shot alone has more true emotion than that whole trainwreck called Red Arrows by George "May the Force Be with You" Lucas...this 1995 TV movie is truly more superior than that CG infest piece of insulting crap.
@Khabuli i think redtails is a sequal or a reboot to the tuskegee airmen because this movie gives more details on what they went through in training it gave more storyline on who they were individually and red tails put more emphasis on the actions or actual air battles. To me they are just two peices part of the same puzzle. now if you are looking for accurate then it would be this movie but for more action and adversity then it would be redtails.
sorry that i have to break the fun for you guys about peoples but the guy died because of the lack of presure or oxygen or something like that.... he wasn't wearong that mask for the oxygen or the pressure, that's why you can see him "high" while he was flying the plane...(he didn't want to get the plane crushed... he wanted to show off his skills)
@TheTexasTerrorBitch well in my book this is how i am going to have it, because i do realise in the situation he was in but i also thought about his surroundings(sorry for my horrible grammar and spelling but w/e) i mean the height he was at, the speed he was going at and etc :)
That's terrible. When the men graduate from the Air Cor look who shows up? Only their families. It should have been a huge parade where all of America would know about the Tuskegee Airmen and a real history in the making. I'm sure there are other famous African American men and women who have contributed greatly but no one knows or even reads about them. A shame.
@extra7dv No, you bigot...Actually I think It's the beginning of the second or third film where a US space ship crashes on a beach, and there's a big a crowd and the astronauts get out and eveyone's excited and they pop off their helmets and it's Cornelius and Zera, the chimps.
@kejos I have often said the same...that I wouldn't fight for a country that doesn't respect me but back then I see where these men were coming from. They wanted to prove that they were men and just as capable as any other. They wanted to stop being called boy and be respected as men. At the end of the day the us is a hypocrite but they were born here so it's home and it's where their family is so they had a right to protect it. I personally wouldn't care if I had the white mans respect.
I am so mad at Montana Fishburne for tarnishing her fathers name. He is a great actor and respected in the black community. I would never dishonor my father the way she did. Lawrence fishburn, you deserve better.
All I know is that they are hero's and they accomplished there dream for themselves,Family and there country, Nobody can take that away from them they made history... People can argue all they want on who was right and who was wrong, All and all said.. (Kiratsuchi) inspite of what you say underneath me, It's not why they did it it's that they did... I salute you Tuskege Airmen God bless you for what you have done for our country
God thing the army isn't like this now or i would be discouraged to go cause im black; but honestly, i can't wait til i finished my computer science degree to enroll in the army. U.S.A U.S.A!!
@Kiratsuchii just my opinion....with that ammount of racism in USA army ,why would young black man go to the war for that country in the first place?? you don't respect me ,tell me that i'm no cappable to do that or this ,I have no rights like others...so why fight?? what is the difference between nazi germany and USA politics towards coloured people in that time? there is no difference!
@kejos As Hannibal said earlier, the Germans weren't sparing colored people. If you think white country rednecks were bad, think of what Hitler's crew would have done to black people back then.
As I've often said, what's bad for white people is TWICE as bad for black people, in this country.
i was a green card serving in the US Navy as a corpman during the war in Iraq and we were treated with as much disrespect as here. my division was called the united nations division. After I receive my citizenship i became a SAR swimmer bc no one in my ship wanted that job. i save 2 fishermen in Bahrain.
@wavular Whats so crazy now is that I am a black man and our people are using ''nigga'' like it's a good word when our entire history has been for us to eliminate that word from our presents and history likings. That day will come when human civilization ends and a new civilization will rise with a new begining.
That was probably what was said but they didn't necessarily say "nigger" with a mean spirit - that's what they were called. It wasn't right to, but the nicest guy in the south with the kindest spirit would call them that as well...just sayin is all - Anyway, don't blame ya at all for feeling that way - still a classic look on his stupid face though, right? - LOL : )
@lladnarg my parents were born in the midwest in 1920. They were as nice as people as u could ever come across. They use to use the n word like normal. It was definitely generational
@spotandedgar You say he killed himself because one little thing went wrong, I'm sure he'd had a lifetime of fighting this type of racist garbage and this was the final straw
@6.05 Lol @ that white man's shock. Those pilots must have been a huge inspiration to that chain gang, hopefully inspired them to do better in the future
"son of a bitch,,, they're niggers" hmm... i'd take that boomstick off his hands and shove it so far up his rear end he'll be crapping shot till 1970 (this i believe was set in the 40's..so there)... XD
I would steal the plane too but fly it into my field and park into my barn as a memento. I'd be waxing it everyday in the barn, sitting in the cockpit and making motor sounds with my lips. Then lay in the hay and stare at it while I smoke some of Pa's homegrown.
The Air Mobiltiy Command Museum at Dover AFB restored a P-51 and put it in the livery of the Tukegee Airman. They invited surviving members to the dedication, including the man who's aircraft they used for a model.
It was a very inspiring day and I was proud to see these (now old) brave men.
@Colenelnelson Agreed, my people, too! My family fought in every war this country had as African-Americans. My dad was in 'Nam, two tours in the 60's. Yes, I know. It is an African-American story indeed, and we are part of America, therefore it is also an American story. I think it was that the caucasian pilots in the end wanted the Tuskeegee airmen and realized that they are men a can do what anyone can do. That's what I mean about it being an American story for all.
He killed himself because he thought it was unfair that he was being kicked out for one small mistake. And because in the beginning of the movie he told one of the other men that he wouldn't be dishonored by going home...he would die by fire. So thats what he did.
actually he didn't want 2 kill himself, his cockyness was the reason for his downfall, noticed how his eyes kept closing, thts because cabin pressure was knocking him out, he died becuz he passed out and crashed, he didn't want to kill himeself
