@Gordon22141 I used a none stick pan and used a plastic spatula so not to scrape the pan. Also, a better way to handle the dough is to wet your hands with water first. Giuseppe.
I just tried this recipe and my family loved it. I used whole wheat flour which made it drier and therefore required an extra egg and two spoonfulls of yougert.
Would the recipe change much if i used wheat flour? and would it taste similar n have the same crunch if i do use wheat flour? i always follow this recipe but im currently out of white flour n really want to make this right away :) thx!
Okay so i saw this video on another site, and im not sure, because it has a different recipe. You didnt make this clear but did you use butter? And how much if so?
@TheOfficialIdiots No, I did not use butter, but you can add 2 tablespoons of butter or vegetable oil and the biscotti will be slightly softer, like a cookie.
Thank you very much for the video. Before watching this video I could never have imagined myself to be on the 'making' side of biscottis. I made a batch using your exact recipe and another with pistachios, walnuts and raisins thrown in with the almonds. Result? Delizioso!
I would like to thank you for the time taken, am pretty sure that am going to enjoy this italian recipe . I realy loved your video because for its simplicity

Made my grandma's biscotti today, but her recipe has oil... ALSO her reciipe calls for 20 mins @375... BUT I think I'll try 300 for 30 mins.. and THEN turn... Good idea way to try it!!! Thank you so much for the recipe!
Thank you so much for making this video! I am going to try to make biscotti for the first time to share at Christmas Time and for my sister to give to my niece's teachers. Your video helped relieve my fear of messing up!
Awesome!!!! Biscotti has no butter so it's better then other cookies, cakes and pasteries. Thank you so much. My parents are from Pakistan and I will try and make this with my family. The fact that you used a lot of almonds makes it a healthier alternative. Once again...thanks!
I can't stop watching your videos...your recipies only slightly differ from my family. These videos bring back precious memories of me and my grandmother and mother in the kitchen, cooking for my nosey uncles who used to come and dip thier fingers in whatever uncooked pot we were working on...lol:) thank you so much, you are such a nice man.
Joe, can you show us how to do anise cookies..not too heavy. Would it be just like the almond biscotti batter, but replacing the almonds & extract and adding the anise? Please do some more videos. Your bringing back our Italian memories!
merci ! this is a nice way of teaching how to make biscotti ,i just noted down the ingrediants as i watched.. i cant wait to make and bake . Thank you!
Giuseppe, your biscotti is absolutely wonderful. They came out truly perfect! Can you suggest how to store them once they are freshly made? I.e. do you keep them out for a night and then keep them in a container?
@JODAILEE I think putting cranberries in the biscotti is a great idea!! I should inlay that suggestion into the video for people that have peanut intolerance! thank you for your response!
Giuseppe I just wanted you to know that I did the biscotti. They are delicious. We always make them, your recipe doesn't call for oil as my mom's but the taste is the same.
They remind me of the Cantucci made in Tuscany because they are crunchy and delicious!
PS I had problems rolling them in logs, had to put the batter in the baking pan with a spoon, but the result was the same....
For some strange reason though, I forgot to split the thing into two logs, and made one big one. Now. little bits of dough at the top of each biscotti are missing. Why did that happen? Please bear in mind that it was the first time I've ever baked anything. Cheers
Hi! Thanks for your response and your really nice comments on my videos! My parents are from a town called Buccheri, located 25 west of Syracuse, Sicily. My father was baker and later became a chef in America - I guess I got some of his technique! I became a bricklayer (retired) and as you can see in my videos, cooking has become my hobby! Do you have any suggestions for what my next video can be? Thank you again for your comments!
Yes, I made it. It came out good. But not that sweet and I"m usually the type to lessen sugar...so you know it wasn't that sweet! He adds one cup...but next time I'm adding 2 cups and watch your almonds! Mine almost burned.
Great video G and I love your kitchen! you can tell when someone has love in their house when the kitchen looks like they actually use it to cook! lol I am making your biscotti for Christmas gifts, thanks for sharing.

It is a flour batter similar to this biscotti but she would make it like in a loaf with apricot marmalade type filling. The cookie I believe is the typical Italian cookie like a cake cookie. I hope I described it ok and she was from Sicily.
Thank you! What a delicious idea - I've never tried it but I would suggest buying a bar of dark chocolate, melt it in the microwave, and either dip the biscotti in the chocolate or drizzle the chocolate over the biscotti, place on wax paper and pop it in the fridge until the chocolate hardens.
I want to request a recipe when I was a girl my neighbor was from Sicily and she used to make the most delicious torte cake with apricot jam the dough tasted like an Italian cookie it was amazing. I hope you know what I am talking about if so can oyu please, please, please post the recipe.

this way I found it abit too "bready",
I always use some butter for more "desert" feeling , it keeps crispy edges but without breaking your teeth ,
Also after cutting it if you put it direct on a grill roster you will not have to turn them over.
Hope this helps

Joe, you could toast the almonds in the oven.
I think you put too much flour on the biscotti before putting it in the oven. Also it would be easier if you used parchment paper on the cookie sheet.
