in all honesty im scared of using stat raising moves. i always think someones gonna take me out that tturn i use them thats why i just ev train there either sp atk or atk and either their speed or the defense which there weaker on

you shouldn't be worried about raising stats. that can be the key to winning a battle (it often is). the key is raising the RIGHT stats and having a move to protect yourself durring the prosses. EX).substitute-iron deffense-protect-double team ect.

I wonder if WU could've ended the entire battle on it's own :P, just shows first strike moves or Focus Sashes can be very important in a team, otherwise there's a chance you get bowled right over after even a sinlge stat boost.

WU would definitely have ended the entire battle on its own and I will tell you why: sandslash=sucky special defense and didnt have focus sash, dodrio=extremely fragile, forretress=4x weakness to fire. if i had used hitmontop instead of lanturn then the battle would be way different.

But Dodrio only needed to hit a single time with Drill Peck to KO WU, but I really can't know which one is faster.

if that infernape had 146 speed then he would have outspeeded my dodrio. oh and I dont have drill peck on dodrio:P but I have brave bird xD

Oh yes, I remember now, it did have. I'm more used to Drill Peck because with Dodrio's low HP you'll need on OHKO to make it work, or Dodrio is down for sure, Focus Sashes will be made useless on a Dodrio with Brave Bird.

hehe, I know. my dodrio is more of a hit-and-run pokemon. it hits hard and can 1hko easily, but is taken down quickly. thats also one of the reasons why my dodrio has giga impact. STAB+life orb+adamant nature=awesome

My god, I can't believe you were able to OHKO Lanturn, even after a Nasty Plot.

Special Defense and HP as bulky as Lanturn's is second only to stuff like Blissey.

I can see the high HP, but a base Special Defense of 76 isn't really that immense.

Oh, wow, is it that small? My lanturn is a special wall, and attacks just bounce off of it, so I guess I always thought that its stats were bigger.

Maybe yours isEV-trained in Special Defense, or your Lanturn is being hit by Pokémon not EV-trained in Special Attack. Lanturn can definitely take a hit with that huge HP, however.

hehe I didnt use focus sash because I didnt know which one I should put it on but now ive decided. I have actually removed 4 pokemons from my team(not released), so my strategy will maybe be a bit different and closer in the future.

Good match, both of you played well. It goes to show what a weakness you can be at if someone's already figured out the way that you play, although Haff obviously had changed up a bit of his team in order to not be so predictable since my match with him.

hehe im gonna change it much more. for each match I play, the more I see the weaknesses of my team. I had actually planned to use my hitmontop but decided to use lanturn instead since I wanted to use a tank/wall/annoyer on my team. as you can see it wasnt a very wise choice:P my hitmontop would have most likely have helped more. just wait and see...the hitmontop is greatly underestimated.

With a 110 Special Defense, I'd bet Hitmontop would've been the biggest threat of all. If he can survive with even 1 HP, he can use the Bulk Up and Mach Punch combo to get rid of Infernape.

yes, I ment that helmeppo, and the wolf was shown in the second or third episode in the anime where he attacked rika, the little girl Koby and Luffy befriended.

well, he was shown in the manga as well, but more briefly. it was shown only 2 pictures of him so its easy not noticing it. I thought the wolf showed a bit of a resemblance to luxray, thats why I named him Soro. as for where I got the name, I searched the One Piece Wikipedia(not sure about the exact name.

Well Stealth Rock might be a good idea for you then, your opponent will think twice before switching if you've got Stealth Rock up!

I know that there are moves like that but is a waste of turn and you can end up knocked out in a 1 on 1 battle. I meant banning rules ...and in a 2 on 2 battle is way easier to use Stealth Rockª;)
