Update Nokia 770 to OS 2007 HE

Great video. I have a question. My daughter was playing around with my 770, and now the tools/start menu won't work. When I clock on it, it opens the mail or the menu for the browser. I have installed several OS versions and although the different versions install, the same problem remains. Any ideas?

when I went to hacker site, I had to use the WLAN numbers under my battery, but site said was not valid?? now what?

The hacker file in the video has a .bin extension. Yet when I save the file it has a .php extension (the hacker file with the .bin extension is called a php file. I can understand why my downloaded hacker file has a .php extension, which the Nokia updater won't recognise.

After downloading the 0s2007 file it came up as a .bin and not a .php as the previous few downloads over the last few days. So all is well now, I can join the reflashed community with a smle. I'm flummoxed why this happened. Pilot error?

Hello, you have to download only the one you want to use, if you have a 770 model i personally prefer the OS2007HE since the 2008 felt too heavy on it

Oh forgot to add... i used to get a .php file too, it was the correct file, just needed to rename it to .bin. NOTE that depending on your pc windows might hide the file extension, in that case you would need to uncheck "hide known file types" in the windows file explorer options (sorry don't know the exact steps since my windows is in spanish ^^)

Wow i didn't know it was that easy to flash, thank you for posting the instructions and i thank too to the people that did the job of making it work ! My 770 feels faster with this upgrade and i'm not even using virtual memory at all ! (lost my rs-mmc card lol)

Very helpful video. I was able to upgrade my Nokia 770 to 2008 version following the same procedure. Just don't forget to change the file from .php to .bin

I have a problem. I tried before seeing this video to do this myself and I clearly messed up. Now when ever i turn on my Nokia the screen image appears to be white and the window that appears looks white and the text is very very very light and hard to read. PLease help me.

This was the biggest help I found on the web to install the os 2007 HE. The text files I read just wouldn't do it for me( most likley cuz i was doing something wrong haha.), thanks for the visual!
