You can throw it how you want, within reason - it's about learning to do exactly the same thing every time, and cutting out factors that could affect this, like moving hips, shoulders etc.
everyone has their own technique for throwing darts..i play in a league and know someone whoe bends at the waist and practically throws from the waist..it's strange to watchand i don't know how he does it, but i've seen him hit 180's doing it.For this guy to say this is how you should do it doesnt mean it's the right way

As an American dart player, this guy makes me want to hold a dart with three fingers and jam it squarely in my ocular socket. Every single one of these "experts" on expert village is a moron. If you want to see a "perfect" way to throw a dart search for any video of John Lowe. Phil may be the best player that has ever lived but in my humble opinion his stoke is smoother than Taylors. As far a good American Darts Players go do a Google search for Conrad Daniels or Larry Butler.

u dont even bring the dart back past your ear. you have to bring it to the eye that is on the same side as your foot thats forward what a divy theres more holes in the cabnit.... the board looks brand new

dude thi guy doesnt know much because there is no set way to throw a dart, you throw it the way you feel most comfortable, and with the whole make sure your back foot doesnt rise up i have seen many brilliant players lift there back foot after they have thrown, yes i would know what i am tlking about because i am the son of a professional so any of you who want to test my theories or need help email me =]

Best advice I was ever given was throw with your arm, not your shoulder, and keep your head still.
Other than that just find a comfortable way to play and enjoy it!

I think you should play how u feel comftable people are different sizes so they have to position it differently its down to the individual although a guide to go on can still help i play with my foot sideways to give me that couple of inches closer on a lean but others canot so basicly its all down to practice look out for me cause il see ya at the lakeside final next year lol

this is completely wrong - he says that we have to rather put the darts on the board and not throw - so basically release it as late as possible - but Taylor releases his darts immediately and not at the end - this is complete rubbish - do not listen to this guy. if you don't believe me, there is a video of how Taylor throws darts on youtube, find it and u'll see

This guy is laughable! There is no correct way, its whatever works - Bristow, Taylor, Barney, Bobby Georg, Van der vort, Wade, all the best all have completely different styles and they are all effective - if this guys such an expert why are we not mentioning his name along with the greats! Hilarious - notice we never see him go down from 501, thats cos he's no good!

Throwing a dart is not something that can be broken down like a golf swing, the style of the throw is very much down to the individual, so though I admire your effort in the video I can't say I agree with what you're saying.
