I miss The Bill that went with this theme tune.... It bothers me because they have such a good cast but they lost that orignially grittiness along time ago.... I think when Carver became an alcoholic... I liked it when we didn't know much about their lives...

The theme tune from the first series was simply the drums, guitar, bass and synth - basically the rhythm track without the melody that became famous. It sounds great actually, very analog and retro. I know because I've just bought the first series on DVD, found it in a DVD store in New York of all places!

The original theme from series one-onwards was the best. This one really hasn't stood the test of time well whereas the first one still sounds good to me, even if this is based around the same notes as the original.

The first series theme tune was very different to the subsequent ones. It's in "The Bill Series 1 Opening".
