Interesting how the reported describes his as a vocalist and and a bassist, ignoring the fact that Lynott was one of the most gifted lyricists in Rock history. He used language like another instrument, and I used his lyrics to introduce poetry units back when I was teaching English.

The interesting thing is that when I told my class he used language like an instruments, one of my students said, "That's just like rap."
