Water on the keyboard maybe fine. But water into the touchpad buttons area = dead thinkpad.

Try spilling a little water on the left side of keyboard. In my expierence it would be dead after a minute.

Where does the water go? It isn't adding up and it has to go somewhere.
@oscargecko drains through channels leading from the keyboard to the bottom of the notebook where the liquid safely empties out

@oscargecko You have drainage pipes going to the bottom of computer, so it goes right trough.
