Yes, John shouldn't have been high or 'experimenting' when they were live in front of millions when they were trying to break through, but I don't think that it deserved that much negative attitude towards it. Obviously not as good as the original way, but I think it's nice to hear it in a slightly different way.

you are just stupid , john plays the song well , he just change the voicing of his guitar part , he play the right chords , its just a different way to play the chords and its great , the only disapointed things here are the backing vocals ! john always improvise on the intro and it's very cool , it"s more harder to improvise your guitar part in live than play the same way every night ....

In fact, JF didn't want to play for thousands and the year 1992 was very difficult for RHCP. This song had been played in this weird way because of John protests. If anybody read Anthony's biografy then he should know that.
