  • Ah yes, the tune of the GOteaParty Teahadists (including the whiners who posted here).

    Go, Groucho!

  • Go Groucho Go!!!

  • Groucho Marx was yesteryears David Letterman, but more widey liked and not a progressive.

Its not the Repubican's anthem. Morrons. Groucho sings a sarcastic verse, sitting in a canoe strumming a guitar as Miss Bailey rows. This is in line with his suspicions about the college widow's intentions through the entire film. Do your research.

There is a difference between Conservatives, Tea Party Partriots and Repubicans. The first two are trying to get rid of the latter.

  • the lyrics are far from synchronised with the music - i don't know what your intentions were

  • @firestartertwistedfi whatever this persons intention were...i'm against them :)

  • scottish labour's inpiration....

  • This is the best Marx Brothers song.

  • This nails down what the Deems (sic) have has as policy for the past 10 years or so. Well, if it was something that strips citizens of rights and gives more power to the government, they tend to favor it.

  • @3inrifle Yada yada yada yada . . . whine whine whine

  • Jon Kyl!

  • oh Horsefeathers!

    ;^)

  • All of the opinions expressed here: I'm against them!

  • I don't care if something is Democratic or Republican. If either side does something I find wrong, I'M AGAINST IT!

  • WSenator, we live in AMERICA there is no "giving your fair share" you communist puke.

  • That is a crazy way to look at things. You think that just because you're born in America you deserve to be given things because you deserve to be happy? I honestly don't get your train of thought. People in factories with a HS education "work hard," do they deserve the same things as people that have a college degree and work 14 hour days, if it makes them happy?

  • @OnlyFloyd

Why, yes! They're working, aren't they? And you realize you're talking to a communist, right? So, I'd kind of like everyone to have access to the means of happiness. I find it as crazy to believe that people can't get what they need to be happy, because they do a seemingly less important job.

  • You're a communist, GREAT, there's a country for you already! CHINA!!! Because that system seems to work so well, right? No, it's a pipe dream. Your job importance is decided by society, that's why your doctors make more then your burger flippers and that makes total sense. You are paid what "society" deems you are worth, if you were worth more, they would be paying you more.

  • Wasn't there a country about thirty years ago that had the exact system you want and it failed? You can think what you want but someone isn't going to be a doctor and have the life and death stress that goes along with it so they can make the same money as a hamburger cook. It is in no way realistic. In this little Utopia of yours, what happens to the ones that live off of the system?

  • @OnlyFloyd

Don't know the name of it then. Workers were never treated well. Unless you count Western Europe as communist.

People become what they become because they like to do it. No one wants to make hamburgers at mcdonalds all their life.

No one can live off the system if they don't work, unless there is a good reason they can't get a job. (I.e., elderly or disabled)

  • Russia was considered a Communist Government and it failed. You can name the country and yes it was communist. There are many articles on it. So you're saying you take away all aid to people that don't have jobs, right? Where do you put them to work? Also, you say that doctors don't care about money they just care about what they do because they like it? Seriously man, where are you getting these ideals? It's not realistic in any sense of the word.

  • this is the oath republicans swore to on the healthcare bill.

  • Whatever it is, they're against it!

    Insurance companies:

Whatever it is, JUST KILL IT!

    Joe Lieberman:

    Ok!

  • Goddamn right because we ain't commies

  • maybe, but this does technically mean that I can call you marxist...

    GROUCHO Marxist

(also, my first post was meant to be satirical)

  • Hahahaha the official song of the AP US Government Round-table Discussions.

  • The Republican theme song!

  • @Slufa

  • @Slufa lmao agreed.

  • Comment removed

  • Groucho Marx is still the author of my favorite quote,or should I say philosophy."I would never join anything that would have me as a member."Which came in handy growing up in the Sixties and Seventies.

  • THANK YOU!!!

  • The party of NO must be so proud of their new anthem. Groucho is timeless and spot on - surely laughing from beyond the grave

  • The current anthem of the Republican party!

  • lmao

  • Well, at least it is anathema to the ideals of the Democrats who seem to think my pockets are as bottomless as Harpo's stomach! ;-)

  • Be glad there isn't a liberal hunting season. You'd be tagged.

  • Your pockets? Are you in the 110% tax bracket? I thought they'd abolished that centuries ago!

  • The Repig Party -- the party of no.

Especially when it doesn't help the obscenely rich.

  • I knew it was only a matter of time before this classic song was poked by the violent hand of politics. But, Whatever. >_>;

THIS SONG IS... Hard to describe. xD; Infectious? Sticky? Catchy? I dunno. But I love it. ( Note: Sticky means it sticks in a person's head easily. ...For me anyhow. )

  • Yeah because the Dems haven't been doing the exact same thing for the last eight years. Example court nominees which by constitution doesn''t even require congressional approval but only Congressional vetting and a large number of court benches are vacant because the Dems refused to vote on them or vett them through.

  • Yeah, two wrongs make a right, i agree

    ??

  • I'm not saying its right, I'm just saying that those that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

  • Thank Goodness

  • Thank Goodness!!!

  • Presenting... the new House Republicans' Anthem!

  • only the house ? the entire FUCKEN GOP

  • W00T!!

    I love it

  • OMG, doesn't this sum up partisan politics? Should have a bazillion hits!

  • lol....yeah thats a good point actually.

  • It was probably sung and recorded in 1931, since the film in which it appears ("Horse Feathers") was released in 1932.
