I favorite episode was the one called "Ragnarok and Roll". Best episode of the series. That episode pays homage to the THE GHOSTBUSTERS I&II movies about the end of the world. Brilliant.
@CodeOfHonor2009 I love this episode, too. Whats your favorite episode? What caould top this?
I mainly love here how there is no way Winston can do it; the seeming impossibility of the odds - and then, miraculously, the theme music comes on and - ja, bless - he does it.
Does anyone think the guy at 0:49 was the guy who wound up being taken by the evil spirits in the last battle of good and evil? That guy sure doesn't look like any of the other evil spirits.
correction, the bad team's logo is the pentagram! satan's star, the downward pointed star!! completely evil!! and the red scorpion. scorpion meaning death, destructive forces, disaster, darkness alot of words staring wit the letter D i guess like devil lol also means evil, torment, treachery and Judas Iscariot. you can guess what red means! tootles!
holy shit i'm into symbolism and the new world order and freemasons! n the good teams logo is a pyramid and a circle with an eagle or phoenix and the suns rays!!! diabolical!!! completely new world order! its on the back of the dollar bill! pyramid wit the eye suns rays and the eagle! it means its god. or the phoenix means rebirth like jesus when he was raised again from death. the bad teams log is the jewish star! kabalah what madonna believes in. lol
@corjonbett He could also be satan. Red skin, red glowing eyes, speaking in half truths, tempting the ghost busters with a choice that would essentially put them on evil's side. Also something about the symbolism of the final scene in which he appears, backed by that part of the stadium that looks like a dead angel spreading it's wings. Just my two cents.
I beleive the umpire was a god motif as well. Not just because he let evil run its course while good beat it with faith. He showed real consern for the fate of one soul (Peter)
Thanks SO much for uploading! I haven't seen this for over 20 years! I had it on tape when I was a kid and watched it over and over!
It would be interesting to learn what studio this was produced by. It definitely looks Japanese. In fact... has anyone ever heard of "Peter Pan no Bōken"? There are some drawings in this that really remind me of that series. Off to explore the facts!
This episode pissed me off. I wish our society would stop ramming the unfortunately untrue cheaters-never-win, winners-never-cheat message down children's throats. It does badly to prepare them for the real world. If I had written the episode, the other Busters would argue that if evil is allowed to cheat because that's what makes it evil, then logically good should be allowed to help others in need because that's what makes it good, and then they'd join Winston in playing the game.
True, he did get an out. However, because Winston missed all the other balls, I think the umpire compromised by letting it stay on the base and counting the ball Winston caught as one out.
Egon wishes he could have studied the Umpire a little more closely..gotten a few more readings.
I think it's supposed to be Marduk from "I Am The City"because of the red skin and towering height, however you can see only two glowing eyes instead of four. But he does dematerialize the same way Marduk changed form.
the best episode IMO but at 4:46 when the other 3 ghostbusters have there mouths open!,do you think somebody forgot to colour them in or do they just have huge teeth
egon wished he could have got more of a reading on the umpire! does anyone have a clue on what or who the mysterious umpire could be? it sounds like an inference to god. he let evil run its course, and through faith, good eventually won by playing all of the rules accordingly. he allowed the others, unknowingly, to choose peters fate by giving them the same set of rules. i am reminded of the futurama quote from god: when you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.
When Winston whacks it and da music comes on it sends chills down my spine, one of my favourite eps along with grundel, boogieman, casey jones and lupusville.
He was not neutral. He was good. Good would allow fair play and fair calls. Even if it meant losing to evil. He would not be good if he favored the good team.
Awesome! Ive only been able to find a low quality cut version online. :( I used to watch this every saturday when I was a kid when it first aired. I still have tons of old Ghostbusters toys back at my parents place from when I was a kid. lol I have just recently started watching all the eps. in order online.
You know how every kid has this one stuffed animal he used to get past nightmares in the 80's. lol Well mine was the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Again Id rather you had him if you wanted him. Better you take care of him he is a little worn out from the 80's. Just messege me ur addy Ill send him to you. :)
Man I love these Ghostbusters cartoons. Nostalgia overload! This show is just as good now, if not better then when I remember watching it as a little kid when it originally aired. Thanks RBG!
Dig Peter's expression at 5:39. That is sooo anime.
These episodes were split up between tons of different crews, mostly Japanese, but some look more "anime" than others. This is one of the them, and expressions like Peter's there are only the most obvious aspects of that.
@bulldog666999 Which means Egon is not a true New Yorker. Funnier Peter is the only mets fan! The Rest are probably Yankees fans expect Egon Blue Jays!
Love the ending on this episode, Peter realises that Winston was playing for Peter's soul all along and if Peter, Ray & Egon had cheated then Peter would've lost his soul. "From now on, I only go to Metts games."
Did Egon say he supports the Toronto Blue Jays?!
