@RandyNumNutz You have some spelling problems. As far as training, it doesn't take that long to teach the basics, so duration does not dictate better quality. As for infantry, you go to plenty of extra training after basic to hone fighting skills.

USMC are probably some of the hardest motherfuckers on the planet. their mindset is to destroy and kill everything.

i passed off form basic training in the army, then left, was good when I was there, felt like more of an attendance course at times though. They were passing off folks who couldn't cut the mustard,and carrying out all the normal punishments but to no avail. Those who were jack still were but because they put up with the abuse, they became soldiers. i lost faith. I'm looking to join the RMC purely because i know i'll be out on my ass if I cant keep up. S.A.S was formed before the U.S special forces, but the 1st legit special force was formed in WWI by the Italians and was called Arditi. As for who is better between SAS & USSP, no one really knows. But the most highly trained unit in the US is the U.S SOF (Delta force) anyways.
@alanbstard4 No really, cause his unit was formed in 1943. You cant really say the RM were the first either. Theres commando forces dating back to rome and farther back than that. But I say the real idea of some sort of commando force was when the germans created their shock troops during WW1. The brits also had their own version, but basically they were created around the same time in WW1. Id say the very first commando raid was on france may 1940 during the assult on Eben Emael.

The britsih army commando was a more commando style as we know it. They were later transferred to RM who are like a seaborne infantry, with SBS attached

on a recent visit to the us, a company of royal marines undertook the us marine assault course. a brit marine beat the us record by 3 minutes. the whole brit company beat the us exept one. a 21 year old who beat the 45 year old RSM by 17 seconds.

Royal Marines have the longest basic training in the world. Plus every U.S. special ops unit are based on the British SAS and SBS. You have the best military the world due to its size, not pound for pound value of the individual soldier. DEVGRU and DELTA are exceptional forces but they were both based on our SF, just like every other SF.

i passed off form basic training in the army, then left, was good when I was there, felt like more of an attendance course at times though. They were passing off folks who couldn't cut the mustard,and carrying out all the normal punishments but to no avail. Those who were jack still were but because they put up with the abuse, they became soldiers. i lost faith. I'm looking to join the RMC purely because i know i'll be out on my ass if I cant keep up. And so will anyone else.

The gap in quality is immediately noticeable and I for one wouldn't wanna be on the wrong side of those brits. They turn fucking horrible in battle man, also show them some respect. They are out there as our brothers in arms.
We are still the most powerful military on the planet remember that, but when it comes to quality and training those Brits are the best.

S.A.S was formed before the U.S special forces, but the 1st legit special force was formed in WWI by the Italians and was called Arditi. As for who is better between SAS & USSP, no one really knows. But the most highly trained unit in the US is the U.S SOF (Delta force) anyways.

@alanbstard4 No really, cause his unit was formed in 1943. You cant really say the RM were the first either. Theres commando forces dating back to rome and farther back than that. But I say the real idea of some sort of commando force was when the germans created their shock troops during WW1. The brits also had their own version, but basically they were created around the same time in WW1. Id say the very first commando raid was on france may 1940 during the assult on Eben Emael.

And then the US army had their's merrils maurders or somthin. I know RM commandos were trained by some crazy candian i believe. The RM and RA both got commandos the Army had more, but then after the war the RN pretty much got the RMC. Hence pretty much why they always cross train between services which i think is cool.

on a recent visit to the us, a company of royal marines undertook the us marine assault course. a brit marine beat the us record by 3 minutes. the whole brit company beat the us exept one. a 21 year old who beat the 45 year old RSM by 17 seconds.

Royal Marines have the longest basic training in the world. Plus every U.S. special ops unit are based on the British SAS and SBS. You have the best military the world due to its size, not pound for pound value of the individual soldier. DEVGRU and DELTA are exceptional forces but they were both based on our SF, just like every other SF.
