Very instructional video, thanks a lot. It shows more of the practical approach than the other videos I found on probing. Seems faster than the pyramid method, too.

I found that using more than 4-5 probes at a time and putting extras on the z-axis will decrease redundant echoes on the z-axis but nothing more than that (2 dots with the same ID). Your signal strength is the same (sometimes even worse with more probes, I've tried with 7 and got a lower strength than scanning the same object down with 4). It's way quicker to manage 4 probes than 7 or 8 so 4 probes win.

If you probe in this fashion, what you're saying is true. If you use other techniques, 8 probes are the fastest.

Im scanning long before the new scanning and i just use 4 probes so whitout the probe in the middle, i think the one in the middle is usseless, but i scan almost the same only whitout the middle probe and scan just as fast.

Annyway, i think its still lame the new scanning, its freaking easy compare to the old scanning.

at first i thought scanning was hard, one time it took me 30 minutes to find a wormhole i almost gave up, so i searched on the internet and found this. i would like to thank you for making my scanning and wormholing days alot easier, and fun asswell.

what im trying to do is use more probes (i dont need them just for those instances where i need just the little more umph) you have your original 5 and lets say you lauch 2 more for a total of 7. u do like urs says and move the 1st 4 out like ur method then u tilt to the side and do one up and one down

for 7 probes evenly spaced. now if I wanted to use more would it be possible? and if so how would u incorporate them into this method

Yep that is possible.

Double the Probes. When u have the Original 5 Probes, put one on the left Probe (complete same positions) the same with the Probe at the Right side etc. etc. etc.

For example u use 10 Probes, u can use the same Positions as the Original 5.

O i got a question also: How would you incorporate more probes into this method? I can understand adding 2 more (going up and down) but more than that wouldn't be very plauseable unless im missing something? Thanks

No Problem : Put the new Probes on the Old ones (same Height). For Expample u have the Left Probe in this Video, easily put 2 more Probes on the old one.
