you know i think these cats my be Korats and not Russian Blues, if you google them you will see huge similarities b/c a Korat is basically a Siamese and Russian Blue mix but the ears are wider at the base and their face is heart shaped (like Romeo and Juli here). but i could be wrong, just noticed the look a lot like the Thailand cat Korat =]
Anyone know of any relatively cheap places to get Russian Blues? I got one from an adoption center once and got lucky, contacted a breeder a second time but I'm unwilling to pay $900 for one. =/
Actually that's a valid point. I'm not 100% sure it was a Russian Blue. I looked at pictures online and it seemed pretty close but I appreciate the suggestion. I'm looking into gray domestic short hairs now. Thanks for the advice!
In Russia they cost 250-300$ for a kitten, and you can pay extra 250 $ for the documents if you need them. That's in Moscow or in St Petersburg, I mean. In remote places it's much cheaper. Next Tuesday I'm buying a male Russian Blue kitten for myself, and I can say I'm the happiest person on Earth...
I have a russian blue, and my stepdad haaaaates cats, but loves me (:
So when i brought my cat home, he didn't know about it, but when he found out, he actually liked him ! of course, he likes to make jokes, the cats name is smitty, so he calls him shitty (: hahaha but i love my Russian blue ! hes so full of life and thinks hes a dog ! he drinks out of our St. Bernards water bowl and plays with him ! (:
I was never a cat person, but I got a russian blue named Danna she was a stray cat. I love her so much. My husband wasn't happy about me getting a cat, and now whe talks to her more than he does to me lol. She follows him everywhere, and is more attached to him than with me. I take care of her all the time, but she preffers my husband. He spoils her more a lot. I am thinking about getting another russian blue cat.
Wow... those cats looked so big until you put your hand in there lol That really surprised me. I have a Russian Blue/Brittish Shorthair mix. Such great cats. Your two look especially happy <3
when i was 12 outside the dentects office there where tuns of cats one of them was a russian blue which just came to us and let us pet him everytime we came there
one day i decided i wanna take him home my dad wasnt really into the idea so he tried to trick me haha "if the cat gets in the car without you putting him in there and wont try to run away you can have him ." i called the cat and he just went and sat in the car XD hes been living with me ever since 5 years now..i love him to death <3
Trevory12 - true russian blues have long narrowish heads like a siamese, the american shorthair cat is sometimes all gray and can be mistaken for a russian blue. every russian ive ever had has looked like these guys. they're great pets!
thanks for that, although im still not sure you're right :P
because, to me it seems rather like an exception to the rule. eg, if i look the breed up in wikipedia or some cat breeds website, it's the roundheaded version that comes up.
yes, they're very beautiful, therefore i have a question to you or anyone who knows: these cats here have sort of long and narrow heads whilst some other russian blues have round faces instead - why is that? i like the long and narrow ones and would like to obtain one some time in my life.
you should definetely get one! I have a Russian blue and he's the most wonderful pet I've ever had, and the best cat I've ever had,..and I've had many cats. They're the most sensitive and sweet. They like being held too unlike some cat breeds.

@Tooltrocity
i would just get a grey domestic shorthair on from a shelter- you can barely tell the difference
if you do a petfinder search for grey domestic shorthair you'll find tons
and unless they were sure that your first cat was a purebred Russian Blue, your first cat was likely a grey domestic shorthair too

I love when you bring a baby kitten into a home with an older cat because they automatically think it's their baby!! So cute!!
aymie520 2 years ago
@aymie520 Thats not true. Many fight for their territory
eyzonm3 2 years ago
@aymie520 Often, not always, it goes like that. Female cats are more likely to
nurture a kitten than a male. Romeo here is a beautiful exception.
