Need help with connecting Numark DM950 mixer

Did you open Virtual DJ, then go to config, and go to sound setup, then go down to "Outputs", & select external mixer.

basically u need ur 2 turn tables going into the sound card inputs. then have channel 1 output going to channel 1 of ur mixer, and vice versa with channel 2. then go to the settings of vdj and set it up for external mixer. im not experienced with vdj, but thats how it works with traktor and mixvibes

@voskospedo make sure the rca's r in the right line inputs on your mixer and the sound settings on your virtual dj are set 2 output: external mixer also setup your timecodes and your soundcard has all drivers and is setup as asio soundcard in the settings...tell me if it works or not

@voskospedo okay thts good i do 2:)...it works 4 me and i hav them set 2 phono..but on the versaport i hav it set 2 line make shure ur turntables r in the input of ur soundcard and your mixer is on the output of your sound card

you have to set up your Cues in the Program to your tables

like go to Confg and your set up should show up then add all the hot keys like if you were to on a keyboard

I can connect 2 pickups, one on each input channel of versaport smoothly? Well I noticed that the button phono / line operates only on channel 2, not 1. In his video, you work with 2 pickups. Channel 1 phono recognizes automatically? Sorry my english. I used the Google translator. Thank you.

If you go to the config menu check under timecodes there will be a bit u can click on, click on it and click external mixer

You need a sound card with 2 outputs as well as 2 inputs so in the software you make deck A channel 1 and make deck B channel 2. Than run a rca cable from channel 1 (deck A) of your 4 channel sound card into channel 1 of your mixer. do the same for channel 2 (deck B)

dude u dont need no shit like ssl (serato scratch live) just get on ebay and look 4 a maya 44 usb card (like $119) thats 4 in 4 out on the in put ur 2 turn tables on the out put them 2 ur mixer then the usb on ur laptop on the then set up vdj with 2 timecodes and external mixer the line 4 ur mixer is the headphone on ur laptop ill try to make u a vid on how to do it and really this is the best way or try it with the sound card u have just get a 1/8 headphone jack to rca (audio L/R)

@559mk Holy Shit I think you fixed the missing link. I am trying to do just that, Use timecoded vinyls from torq, but have a dj mixer that can control the software volume and crossfader actions without me having to go in traktor and move the fader with the mouse.. Do you have a video?. I actually bought myself an M-Audio Fast track ultra 8r which should outdue the maya usb4. If you got a video hit me up. Thanks Dj Elusion

why would he want to pay 600 bucks when he can spend 100-150? You guys are like girls with the brand names. The maya 44 works just as awesome as serato. I've used both. AND now i have the american audio versaport which works even better than the maya. I say this because it works EXACTLY the same as the maya but offers these extras-(supports usb 1 also-has gain controls on the soundcard-a mic port on the soundcard.) So I got more bang for my buck and didnt have to drop 6 bills on a brand name!

Did you get this resolved? That sound card should working using ASIO, for what you are doing. I was going to buy it this weekend for the same thing just with C.324's, and I don't see why the mixer would need 2 outputs (mine has them) but still. Let me know if you figured anything out.

yea the soundcard is ASIO. it is connected to VDJ but i just cant get the mixer to work with it. ill put up another video with more details when i can.

No, it doesn't control VDJ internally, that's what you are referring to, but the audio signal should still be going back to the mixer, that's the problem.

from my knowledge, you cant get the mixer working because it only has one output. i had the same problem with my numark cd mix 2 and guitar center told me to i just had to buy a different mixer with two outputs. good luck puto
