My family is from Trieste and I spent a large portion of my childhood growing up there. But i'm not sure they're super open minded to homosexuality, Europe in general is more open to nudity and the beauty of the human form in both sexes. Aside from the lunatic religious right and insecure homophobes, the US culture is more accepting of gays than conservative, homogeneous, and catholic Italy

how is trieste a gay friendly city when Italy is one of the last countries in the eurozone to allow civil partnerships?! Spain, Sweden, Portugal and the Netherlands all have gay marriage, the UK, France, Germany, Austria etc. have civil partnerships, and yet Italy is still stuck at not even allowing civil partnerships. if u want to be accepted in Europe as a gay , move to the Netherlands.. now THATS the most gay friendly plaace in europe :) (Im not dutch, but I still think its the best)
