best possible setup for pyro is degreaser + shotgun + axtinguisher/ postal pummeller... you set on fire and melee 1 hit enemies, if a pyro you just airblast them away to gain range and shoot down with the shotgun, if a soldier you shoot with the shotgun moving away and reflect rockets towards him. and believe me fellow pyros... igniting + meleeing a heavy is the only way for a pyro to win in 1v1

Axtinguisher is godlike and it doesnt put out flames because the lit target becomes critable by the Axe. Also why they call it the Axtinguisher is because it extinguishes the character. Extinguish = Death/Kill so get your logic of the game right before you spout words of what they really mean and not how the game really interprets it.

@Relics0897 If you want to succeed as a defensive engi Pyro, sure. I prefer the offensive Pyro that utilizes ambush tactics, flanking, and puff and sting. Its much more entertaining the guarding an Engi (who is probably bad if he doesn't know how to guard his own stuff if you have to do it for him) who should be really doing his job

I personally enjoy the Shotgun to the Flare gun, mate. I mean, having an axstinguisher and a flare gun really puts you at odds against other pyros, and I prefer to be a more generalist pyro, plus I'm a really good shot with the reliable old shotty.

@Cauchemar89 Compress = trumps Demoman and Soldier (if you know when to use it) also used for puff and sting, You need it to trap scouts in corners otherwise you are as good as fodder for the scout.

Axtinguisher = only viable way to end it quick and easy. If you are gonna compete with classes like Soldier, Demoman, and Scout who can easily 1-2 shot something, you are going to need the Axtinguisher

Flare gun and shotty are optional but I choose shotty because its kill ratio is higher

This wasn't a very good pyro guide. Is spy checking you spam your flamethrower mostly, and attack any possible spies. You suck with the flare. And the flamethrower is made for killing. Plus the Axetingusher is used for a finishing kill and can extinguish teamates. The Backburner is far superior because Pyro is great with ambush. And i've pretty much instant killed a lot with Backburner. It's a superior weapon.

You use Demos for attacking, Heavies for attacking, Snipers usually support nobody and Spies even less.
