Looks like a good dandelion garden growing right now. The leaves go great in salads. I'm trying to get a lot to grow in my yard, even growing dandelion in a pot inside.
lol you can pick the onion early for just the green tips but if you leave it for longer, until the green tips start to die, it will have made an onion
You are so funny. Those green onions do look great. I don't recommend letting your garden go like that cause I noticed your dandelion weeds growing there. Tilling those in will bring them back with a vengeance! Watch out for weeds. Also, don't plant everything in one weekend or one day, spare it out throughout the season so that you never get bored with your garden. That way you always have something to do. And that will keep you motivated to keep it up. And read, research, watch videos, anythi
Nice onions, one little tip Ive learned over the years is to till the garden right before it gets really cold. It helps to keep the grass and weeds out the following year.
Doing good. You are on the right track.....just a new lead for you. Start thinking and reading up on "permaculture" and think very much about "harvesting" those dandelions rather than "weeding them". They are the most nutricious plant in the garden. Also think companion planting and herbs. Garlic, chamomile, ginger, comphry, dill, rosemary, sage, thym, parsley, basil, onions, celery,....winterand summer gardens. See Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds.. good luck!
How did you manage to plant your green onions? I never planted onions before, i dont know where they grow from, but i would like to grow some this year. Can you give me tips on where and what to buy to get me started? By the way, your garden looks fantastic along with a beautiful lady to care for it. :)
If you let the onions go, it's a perennial. If you don't cut the stalks it will form a flower and reseed. You would never need to replant it again if you plant a lot or leave it alone for a time.
@walt121 Thanks for the information. It's almost time to plant the garden again! This year we are going to do it a little different! We have learned our lessons in the past! ha ha
luv ur videos... a good tip if u dont already know.. plant ur rows north south to get the most sun exposure per plant... and if u leave two to three feet between rows.. assuming u have the space. u can fit ur rotortiller between the rows, and keep ur garden fairly weed free.. ... good luck :)
@rhondadawnbutler Thanks for commenting on my video. I'm glad you liked it!
And thanks for the great suggestion on the north to south rows. I was going to do just that! I am also going to do something with the black eye peas to let them climb up something in rows. What would you suggest I do?
And also, lol, what is a rotortiller? If it means I don't have to bend down all summer pulling weeds, I want one! Where do you get them?
Thanks for all the information. You are so helpful!
@BeautyMakeUpandHair Oh, but you can! If I can do it, ANYONE can! At the very least, get a big pot and grow some herbs! Just start small. You will learn to love it!
@DrWinstonBoogie Thanks for the comments. Yes, they are!!!! I wish I could share these with you guys! My neighbors shared this bunch! You should have seen their BIG EYES when I came over. They are really excited about planting this year. I got 4 of my neighbors to start gardening last year. It's great to be able to inspire people to do good things for themselves!
With all of the alliums, think NITROGEN early...then lay off and just use good compost to side dress as needed.
I know it's taboo if you're new to gardening, however, FRESH (within 24 hrs) human urine,
diluted about 8 to 1 with water, is absolutely amazing. DO NOT OVER DO IT!!!
Especially with fruit plants of any type.

Worm castings, the best organic fertilizer and insect repellant there is. If done right, you can usually quadruple the size of your produce.
