  • Wish I could hear them better

  • This is so inspiring.. Thank you for sharing this piece.

  • yess they betta harmonize

  • SOLANGE IS HOTTTTTTTTTTTT GET IT GURLLLLLL

  • LMFAO at how that girl was looking at solange will she was dancing :D .

  • Crimen Sollicitationis

  • The sound balance is bad, which is unfortunate. The mics should have been turned up a bit more that way both singers could have heard themselves better.

  • They seriously should do a studio version of this these chicks are bad ass and so is this song.

  • this is one hot collaboration. i was just wishing it was clearer. this actually put me on to the projectors and i think that they are fab. i hope they get far man

  • Terrible.

  • @magbutville cool story bro.

  • solange did a great job with the cover, a melding of bag lady and stillness is the move!

  • I love Solange for this. So down to earth. This is what a diva is. Can get on stage and rip it and help a fellow artist out. They sound good when they sing together too.

  • this sounds horrible ....i love SOLANGE ...i was so excited about hearing this! DAMN!!!!

  • why does the tall black chick just stand there? y did they bring her on? this sucks.

  • @immeohmyoh You didn't watch the whole vid, so stfu.

  • @immeohmyoh THE BLACK CHICK??? ....is beyonce's sister. Watch your mouth dude! ...because i could call the other girl a dirty mut ....with that messy ass hair!!!! looking like a homeless person!

  • I love Solange, but what is she wearing? lol

  • Solange is like a full foot and a half taller than Amber. I lolled.

  • Sounds like Bag Lady by Erykah Badu!!!!

  • I LOVE BOTH VERSIONS ....BUT THIS SOUNDS A FREAK'N MESS!

  • @lovley7000 yes, its hot damn mess.

  • @k0k0jamb0 LOL!

  • Why do people keep saying Solange is trying to go indie?? She's really just doing what she loves. And let's not forget, the Dirty Projectors copied the guitar riff and ooohssss at the beginning from Erykah Badu. She's not an indie artist.

  • amber is getting annoyed by the guitar.

  • this would have been a good video if it weren't for the damn guitar part ringing in the background all the time....

  • Awesome! Everytime I listen to her it sounds like solangs is just gettin better and better with every live performance!

  • They have a dope chemistry together on stage. They should def collaborate.

  • solange ROCKED THATTTT! they need to make an actual song together, for real. everyone in dirty projector has outstandingggg range, and along with solange's chops, it'd be FANTASTIC

  • Why do they sound so terrible live? Oh yeah, because they're SHITTY musicians. REAL MUSICIANS, who can actually PLAY, don't need studio magic to sound decent...This was BEYOND abysmal.

  • @djfakt Seriously? Shut the hell up. If you think this is shitty then clearly you haven't seen any number of ACTUALLY horrible play live. The truth is that almost no one can have perfect take after perfect take. If everyone in the music industry was held to the standards you're trying to press on us, then we'd all be listening to the same four musicians, and that's be hella boring. If you don't like the music then don't listen to it.

  • @djfakt Then join Beyonce's world of stans. dipshit. Your just mad cause you don't know REAL MUSIC.

  • all you could really hear was the instruments, but watching the girls perform together was really fun :))

  • oh, he's playing it out of key... it's not recorded perfectly... blah whine bitch...

this is the shit, it's imperfections add to the realness of it. dirty projectors are the truth, amber coffman is one of the best voices in music today.

  • I don't know whether it's like that during the live shows as well... but on all the videos you can always just barely understand the singing... i liked this performance a lot though!

  • like ha style ....like ha alott bettah den ha sister who has boren ass simple pop music>......dis is sum neo soul type ish and im down wit it!

  • @Figgygirl88 yes but that doesn't really mean anything... People evolve and she always used to dress "weird" (not back in the "Solo-star" days, but she was 15 back then). I grew up listening to urban and now, I'm a huge fan of Solange and MGMT, two completely different kinds of music. That doesn't mean it's impossible.

  • I hate the word "hipster"

  • @amaaani1 And I hate hipsters...

NERDS who THINK they know what cool is.

  • @djfakt yeah, or as a friend of mine says, "hipsters are just ugly people who still get laid". LOL. But yeah being a hipster is 'so totally cool' and hating hipsters is 'so totally cool' too. WHAT DOES SOCIETY WANT FROM US

  • The Knowles shall conquer every corner of the music industry. And it will be good.

  • Solange is a hipster now ? Really ? Mainstream didn't work for you ?

  • @Figgygirl88 I don't really think she's trying to label herself, why would anyone? She likes the Dirty Projectors because she likes their music, not because of the label people place them in. It is what it is.

  • Solange is so amazingly eclectic!! I think it´s so cool of the Projectors to have her performing with them!

  • hahaha you youtube kids crack me up. The reason the beat to xxplosive is at the end is because solange covered this song over that beat before. That's why this is so cool as opposed to it just being a random act it's two versions of this song coalescing

  • Wish the sound was better, but it was still a good mash up/Dirty Projectors + some Dr.Dre beats up in the end...And Solange has been in that scene for a minute now.

  • isnt the beat from dr. dre's explosive? but other than that solange's voice sounds good from what i can hear but what happened to the other chick she jus stopped singin

  • My Sister You Have To Get Away

  • from the instrumental I'm hearing, it sounds like erykah badu's "bag lady" if u listen closely.

  • @NappturalDancer2K10 yeah because they mixed to sound like that. you know...real musicians do change things for live audiences.

  • I like her she is interesting and this is from someone who is in love of her sister...I love all forms of music and she is hot in her own right..there is no right and wrong when it comes to music

  • i would have loved to have been there.

hipsters/haters, you may now continue to argue and talk shit. as you were.

  • you fucking liar, you've had an account for more then two years dumbass lol.

  • I love me some solo but she got pitchy with her head notes at the end

  • I wish that microphone was my dick

  • im sorry u guys but arguing a history of music is quite ridiculous, i like the DP's version but Solange took her's to a whole nother level. music is about mixing sounds and genres let all mix!

  • but u guys.... he is playing that Dr Dre shit in the WRONG KEY. Solange is probably thinking like "WTF?!"

  • atrocious

  • The sound guy needed to have done a better job here. Looks like both ladies have trouble hearing themselves.

Still, I enjoyed the performance, and I like that Solange is not letting Beyonce's status overpower what she's trying to accomplish musically

  • @rpenzo They're holding only one ear, which means they're actually trying to find the right harmonic interval.

Sometimes it's hard to harmonize when you're standing right next to someone else singing something different.

  • @rpenzo Why would she?

  • it's lolz how amber clearly brings out a mic for solange, but she goes ahead and takes the other one anyway.

anyway, this is good. don't hate. the people saying the DPs sampled hip hop songs have forgotten that hip hop wouldn't exist without samples.

  • Solange has done a lot to bring R&B artists and Indie artists together. She is awesome.

Dave Longstreth has done some amazing stuff with the Dirty Projectors. He is awesome.

There is really, truly no need to pick sides.

  • yeah i feel tht she actually is more interested in indie culture anyway, with dropping from her major label, and working with DP's and of montreal and stuff

  • Because It does sound like original R&B/Funk. If you listen to real r&b instead of the shitty stuff that is on the radio, you would hear the similarities. God get a grip.

  • A BLACK person who's a tourist of WHITE culture?! That's not how it's supposed to work!
