A true Zombie classic. The whole atmosphere of that film is so unique to other Horror flicks, where I really liked the setting of the mall. Whereas for my favourite scene, I love the part where Tom Savini's bike gang go into the mall and attack the zombies.

The remake was awesome. It managed to both be original and still capture the feel the first movie, it had a great female lead, it had awesome moments and it had funny moments. I still like the original better, but don’t knock the remake until you try it.

On the whole of it I agree but to be honest I like the European Release of Dawn Of The Dead 1978 a bit more (The Dario Argento cut). Romero must have shot a lot of really good coverage because a great deal of the dialog is quite different and in my opinion the film is a bit darker in mood. It can be had in English from Anchor bay.
Zack Snyder is a stupid fanboy who directs infantile films he thinks are "uber-leet". Dawn 2004 was nothing but a superfluous shell of it's 1978 counterpart, with arbitrary super violence, sex, guns and swearing. Completely devoid of substance and commentary and a wasted opportunity to make a Dawn film for the 21st century with a message. Just like with Watchmen, Snyder's prepubescent brain glazed over the hidden meanings and between the lines answers for special effects and bigger is better.

Dawn of the Dead is by far the best zombie film ever crafted (along side Night of the Living Dead). The ADD people can suck Snyder's dick all they want, it doesn't change the fact this is the best, and it didn't need cgi explosions and sex to achieve that.

In 2004 the zombies changed externally with time...they were rotting...but they could still haul ass...but its all good.

Please describe how Dawn Of The Dead 2004 is bullshit. I fail to see how a film that essentially 'resurrected' the zombie genre from its grave can be described as bullshit. I enjoy both films.
I agree that Zombies should be slower than people but not as stiff and awkward as Romero's zombies. I also believe that their speed and agility should be based on their 'condition'. Clearly as they rot they should get slower. The hyper fast zombies in DOD2004 were a mistake that Zack Snyder admitted. I think the zombies in the Series The Walking Dead are just about right because they are fast enough to be a threat when encounterd in large numbers.

Well then why not make them fly as well? Or perhaps the zombies are all transformed into world class swimmers, weight lifters and balerinas upon death as well. I agree with Romero on this one the walkers can't move quickly because of their death injuries and decomposition. But I do think that a zombies speed should be related to how long they have been undead. In 2004 the zombies changed externally with time...they were rotting...but they could still haul ass...but its all good.

I agree that Zombies should be slower than people but not as stiff and awkward as Romero's zombies. I also believe that their speed and agility should be based on their 'condition'. Clearly as they rot they should get slower. The hyper fast zombies in DOD2004 were a mistake that Zack Snyder admitted. I think the zombies in the Series The Walking Dead are just about right because they are fast enough to be a threat when encounterd in large numbers.
