@TiipX Do you even know who Avenged Sevenfold is? Obviously Van Halen's your favorite band, and I can respect that, but by no means is Avenged my favorite. I don't understand how Van Halen isn't pop and how Avenged isn't metal. Can Halen had like two albums that weren't pop rock and they was Fair Warning and Van Halen I. Avenged is metal because they're heavier listening yet not screamo. And besides between the two Van Halen gets way more radio airplay, you can't argue with that.

Even shadows know he can't compare to primus, at the beginning he urges him to try and compare. No offense to johnny or anything but there are legions of better bass players out there. Justin Chancellor, Les Claypool, Flea, John Paul Jones, Victor Wooten all these guys and more could whip johnnys ass anyday. Not that he's terrible, he's fairly competent as can be seen in afterlife, blinded in chains etc. He does what he needs to in backing up guitars and filling the sound, not spectacular but ok

He really holds his bass playing back a lot in A7X. I wish he wouldn't. They would be so much better with sick bass lines. I wish Zacky solo'd more too. They still have a lot of potential musically, even if they're great now.

@gunlover19112 I think what you mean is A7X doesn't use HIS talent. They always seem to prefer slapping a 2 man guitar solo onto every song instead of the occasional bass solo. Which is fair enough in some cases but I think they should give Johnny more room to be as badass as the rest. In fact the only solo (other than this) he does I can think of is Blinded In Chains :( I don't count the second long slap part of Afterlife :P
