Well a graph of fossil fuel use in general and oil in particular versus population will show a high correlation. Odds are you're not working in the fields due to the mechanization of farming. Diesel fuels, coal to make the steel, oil for the pesticides, natural gas for the nitrogen fertilizer. I believe we got to 1 billion people prior to the industrial revolution (=coal use basically).

yeah that is vey true. alaska has enough oil too supply the U.S. for at least 10yrs. but since the oil spill, its been banned dig for oil in alaska. AND just to shut most of you up. if we do find crude oil in the future, it takes 10yrs for us to turn it into usable gas

you are misinformed. Alaska has maybe enough oil that it would take us 10 years to drain it, but there is no way you can pump it fast enough to supply our needs. Hypothetically, if we were to run our country on nothing but alaskan oil, it would last us only 40 days!
I suggest you watch a movie called End of Suburbia. Offshore drilling and pumping in alaska will very little to help us.
The EROEI on polar oil is so bad that it is hardly worth producing. It only works now cuz of Natural Gas.

This game looks absoluntely exelent and what a great storyline. i have just 2 questions:
how does oil running out result in starvation?
because people wernt starving before oil was descoverd. and also if there is hardly any oil or food then why are all the armies so high tech? where do they get their energy?
i know its only a game but the storyline is realistic and i am just curious on theise issues. someone please tell me ps: please dont call me dumb for asking thiese questions

Well a graph of fossil fuel use in general and oil in particular versus population will show a high correlation. Odds are you're not working in the fields due to the mechanization of farming. Diesel fuels, coal to make the steel, oil for the pesticides, natural gas for the nitrogen fertilizer. I believe we got to 1 billion people prior to the industrial revolution (=coal use basically).
