  • omg i watch a vid with a guy sitting doen on a chair. how can even one ppl like this????

  • savage your mother

  • where the fuck (except for mexico) are there bullfights in latin america????

  • most latin-americans aren't savages.

most latin-americans don't go,and never did go to bull fights.

bull fights were invented and became popular in Spain.

it's a shame to see someone speaking so articulatly and so well of someone so great saying something so ignorant

  • NO JSB Leipzig

  • @FiddlerAdam Ok. In english,please.

  • I'm sorry, but I'm confused? Isn't bullfighting originally from Spain? And isn't Spain in Europe? And hasn't Spain colonised Latin American countries, therefore some those countries practice bullfighting? I'm a little confused here...

  • @violetavalery absolutely

  • Bullfighting barbaric? Savage? LOL Give me a fuckin break. We are humans.. naturally, we are barbaric and savage. Why pretend we are not fuckin crazy animals who systematically kill eachother? You know who's savage?Tabacco moguls.Arms & Weapons companies. The White House. But we want to cry bloody murder because Europeans are entertained by wild beasts being brutally slaughtered to be eaten later on?Cry me a fuckin river. We ARE barbarians still. We just wear nicer clothes and say "please".

  • @tropicalpimp With that logic, why bother trying to better ourselves then right? Why not just go back to walking about nude and raping when it seems fit?

Part of being human is denying the animal side. It's when you return to your primitive roots and cease your attempts at joining higher culture and civilization are you then deemed a savage by me.

Now shut up, and chew with your mouth closed.

  • Vaya que queda claro que este troglodita (el locutor) no tiene idea de lo salvaje que es el mismo.

  • What's the controversy? Bullfighting is barbaric. Everyone knows this.

  • @ceilingkatt y tu; y el locutor ¡también!.

  • Hasta los huevos del Glenn Gould...

  • How the hell has this stupid video lead to a discussion among vegan and omnivores?

  • @trueVincent555 It could be worse. I was just viewing a video of an Edvard Grieg piece and the first comment mentioned something about "killing niggers with guns". It's bizarre where some of these conversations end up going. . .

  • I agree with you all that bullfighting is savage, but as a vegan, I hope that all of you omnivores consider that basic meat eating is completely -unnecessary- and far more savage.

The danger is when we have deeply rooted prejudices, which we often continue without question, without ever taking the time to examine. -Einstein

  • @calico992 LOL. Meat eating is being a savage now? Holy jesuschrist, what has this world come to? How can one get so deluded, it's mind boggling.

  • @calico992 Funny you quoted that, as you don't to question your prejudices of animal lives having some kind of intrinsic value. Being a vegan doesn't make you a better person, on the contrary, sometimes you feel so proud of it that you disregard humans.

  • @JollyBard You purport to know me based on a comment left on a youtube page How do you know how I

    feel towards humans?

  • @calico992 I agree with your point, and you are an intelligent person. Bull-fighting is a sad and rigged game of slaughtering an animal slowly for mass entertainment, it has no redeeming value. However eating meat has been a very extensive tradition of humans, since the dawn of man. I agree, nowadays, we have more sensible ways of getting our protein, but it's either that we love the taste of meat, it's built in our genes, or people are so out of touch with where there meat comes from.

  • @TheShredworthy And I do love the taste of meat

  • @TheShredworthy

Humans also had an extensive, tradition of slavery and injustice towards women. Should we base our values on old systems based on tradition, or should we not try to improve them, and advance as culture? Your a fan of Glenn Gould, so I know your intelligent. You tell me?

  • @calico992 This is true, I don't really have an answer. Great debate topic though. I appreciate you not just yelling at me because I have a differing view, as so many on YouTube would.

  • Savage is to be uncivilized. There is nothing less civilized than bullfights. I will write this so you northamericans who think that you can judge the rite without living it understand more. It is okay if you don´t like it. The bulls is a profoundly simbolic hispanic act, closely related to the need of sacrifice, which you get from silly action movies, far less profound. Nothing in a culture is flawed, for it acts within its boundaires; and it is only flawed when you look at it from outside.

  • -Every- culture has categorical flaws, whether relative to other cultures, or fatally flawed within. Many cultures don't like specific races. Other cultures are still so ignorant as to see females as inferior. Just goes on and on...

  • baffling - what's that supposed to be about?

  • I am disappointed. I thought this video was going to be a funny joke in which Gould would be expressing his dislike of audiences, walk out on stage and, through some trick of computer animation, perhaps kick the mic stand, or throw something across the stage. That would have been funny.

  • Anyone who goes to a bull fight, latin-american or not, is a savage indeed.

  • @TheCrippledSilence 100% correct.

  • @TheCrippledSilence if you eat meat it also makes you a savage indeed, but you won't see that

  • @DajaWaja

Eating is essential to survival... It's NOT savage. On the other hand torturing and brutally killing animals for the sake of entertainment IS savage.

  • @whatshendrix Ok. I eat meat, but i know the fact that it makes me a savage. Why? Because we eat animals that have been stuffed into a slaughterhouse. Do you know slaughterhouses? should learn bout them cause they're one of the most pretty abusive thangs i ever seen, that's pure abuse to nature. I do eat meat but i know that this way of consuming meat is so abusive it'll lead to veeeery bad things happening to us humans.

The essential survival would be a totally different thing

  • @DajaWaja

Essential survival without killing? What are you smoking? You've got problems if you can't tell the difference between killing animals for food and killing them for fun. Spare me your emotional reactions to something completely normal and provide reasonable argumentation, will ya?!

To be a savage is essentially to be UNCIVILIZED. There's nothing uncivilized in providing food.

  • @TheCrippledSilence funny cuz it came from spain.

  • @TheCrippledSilence Estoy de acuerdo. Pero el tipo este que "habla" expresa muy bien el punto de vista de cierto tipo de trogloditas flemáticos, que no tienen otro adjetivo que salvajes.

  • @TheCrippledSilence Naw, you're just some PETA prude. It's part of their culture. In any event, killing a few bulls in a ring, is certainly no worse than slaughtering for food, countless millions of steers, chicken, fish, etc, each year.

  • @TheCrippledSilence The Latin Americans do not conduct bullfights. The Spanish conduct bullfights. And they are EUROPEAN,

  • @gera1262 Yeah we do actually. I'm from Latin America. Spanish people do it yes, we do it too.

  • @mauriciocampostube Where are you from? Peruvians don't conduct bullfights.

  • @TheCrippledSilence you, my friend, are an ignorant, sir.

  • 不羈 yea i agree

  • So it's not just Americans who childishly take every remark at face value, I see: it's Latin Americans too. That is disappointing.

  • Qualifying latin americans as savages is just wrong

  • Savages like Latin Americans.... yeah sure! Let's take the "highly refined" examples from "civilizations" from Europe who had nothing less than killed millions of people "in the name of progress and order" didn't they? So who in the end were "the savages"????

  • @OscarEli76 im 100% sure that what he meant was that the ACT of the bullfight and going to watch it is savage and anyone who like to go and see it was savage because of that, not that all latin-americans are savages, (remember he loved animals and he gave all his money to the protection of animals when he died), the point he was trying to get to is that a musical concert or event is about hearing and feeling it, not watching it. P.S. i'm mexican.

  • yea they do stab them' spears nd' sabers in the moo-moo's. apart from that i only watched this cuz of the comments ;P

  • Whats the big deal? I don't get it :O

  • "Glenn Gould - Beethoven,Liszt, Trascription of Symphony No 6" type this you will see

  • no it is fake. i have just watched the documentary about it. it exist in youtbe. in fact there is no audiences when he comes and sits like that. it is an empty concert hall i know.

  • Gould is speaking of audiences, so the film shows generic 1960s black and white footage. I don't see how anyone would see the juxtaposed COLOUR footage of Gould from a much later date and think this is from the same event. I don't think this is supposed to be fake; it's just illustrative. I guess . .

  • I love Glenn Gould. He was one of the greatest pianist of XX Century. He was a great artist!!! ....but absolutely not a great antropologist o sociologist!!! ... so, my suggestion is; forget about those comments and concentrate on his beautiful music!!

  • @vicenteaboites This (for the first sentence only). Glenn Gould is hilarious; everyone should listen to as many of his comments as possible, reflect on them, and have a good laugh where possible.

  • mmm.....and what about the moros, galos, all those savages were from Europe....IDIOT!!!!!!

  • Racist much?!

  • @sutphoe its a dry joke. Gould made a lot of them.

  • lols, what? yes there is fighting roosters in Latin America,... and there is Bulls in Spain, Camel fights in Mid east, dog fights in China, humans in N America... well at least they kill themselves... But still, have you seen how the chicken you eat are treat? and that happen all around the world, among another ton of examples.

  • dog fights?

  • Now why would a Gould documentary have 4 stars?

...blah blah blah SAVAGES LIKE LATIN AMERICANS blah blah blah....

    Ah.... pity.

  • After this, He didnt give ANY concerts for +21 years.

  • really? why?

  • He saw it as an anachronism, and damaging to the art. And thus, he chose not to participate in it any further...

He didn't compete in any competitions past the age of 15 either, I think, for much the same reasons.

  • The b&w footage at the beginning was probably filmed in Canada rather than Latin America; people are wearing coats indoors.

Come to think of it, I don't see any bulls either so it *must* be Canada!

    ;o)

  • Thank you very much for all your Gould vídeos. Do you have the rest of this concert?

    tks again

  • So much for Latin Americans.

  • Serial killers also tortured animals and then they moved on to human subjects. Glenn Gould and Bach are two unparalleled geniuses!

  • there's something savage, in fact, in finding pleasure watching the torture of an animal. I'm spanish, but almost all countries have similar traditions

  • of course torturing an animal is savage just as torturing a human is savage!! its sick and inhumane and those who torture animals should b shot!

  • [continue] Jesus, I'm a latin -american old woman( a brasilian), and I feel not at all offended.

The problem with you, youngsters, is to feel everything like a threat. Calm down.

Equality? of course, if you are talking of human rights ...and period. When i die( and the day is not so far) my family and my friends missed me. The dead of GLENN GOULD was a loss for all the world, for all the people who love the great art of Music.

    All of us miss him.

  • a minha querida como estas?

  • Klinsha8 - If you read Yourube you'll realize that young people reflexively protest anything that remotely could hurt someone's feelings. You and I simply ignores such talk and went on. They can't calm down (as you suggest) because we have given them a skin so thin they hop like rabbits at the smallest slight.

GOULD's loss was the world's loss. He was one of those artists who come along every few generations, a strange and powerful force.

  • @klinsha8 WISHING YOU LONG LIVE ! YOU ARE GREAT PERSONE ! GOD BLESS YOU ! but it is SO INTERESTING that GOULD had a great sense of intuition & thus he stopped his live concerts & started recordings until his death...

So we have his grace... UNPARRARELED & UNMATCHED GRACE...THANK YOU !

  • @klinsha8 YES exactly

  • @klinsha8 dude, calm down.

  • @klinsha8 To tell you the truth, I miss him, but I feel it was good that he passed away, as he left the next generation of musicians something to cherish as well as looking to strive for.

  • Of course isn't the Gould's voice. But the words are -is part of a interviewGlenn gave in the late fities or early sixties( I can't remember the interviewer's name, but I hear it all here, in youtube).

What's the problem with the Glenn Gould opinions?

    [to be continued]

  • This isn't Gould's voice, though the words sound like his.

  • Dear, BKK:

These are the words of Glenn Gould.

He's the 'jerk' to whom you're referring.

    Enjoy the Thai prostitutes.

  • As far as the narrator is concerned people who view the death of an animal for entertainment regardless of the history or ceremony are savages. I am sure there are plenty of people in latin america that cant stand the idea of watching an animal die for fun. There is nothing wrong with the commentary it is the hate in people who wish to turn everything into a fight.... Please if you cant say something nice dont say anything at all. I think the voice sounds like Jonathan Miller

  • lol i thought glenn gould was narrator?

sounds like him, and j miller is an opera director, so I doubt he would be on this.

  • Maybe George Szell said it best: "That nut's a genius"

  • GG is just saying what was common sense not too long ago, before the masses became brainwashed into believing the equality myth.

"Equality may perhaps be a right but no power on Earth can turn it into a fact." - Balzac.

The races ARE different. Deal with it!

  • Whenever anything with the tone of racism is uttered people justifiably react with scorn. Which does not negate the fact that all cultures continue to cultivate barbaric customs and rituals despite the more noble human cry to abandon such horrific habits. Gould, if he said this, should have perhaps said "while some people enjoy the savagery of bullfights",but this is simply a reaction to savagery. Calling a culture out is not always bad as long as you remember all cultures have their bad habits.

  • ..."horrific habits" such as making unjustified wars and killing civilians by the thousands (or millions), right?

  • savage latin americans and bullfights? lol.

    the announcer is confused/ignorant.

  • Pretty sure this voice speaking supposed Gould quotes is from a somewhat recent documentary. If you search this site for Gould and check who is linking some of the other documentary clips that person also had this one 6 months or so ago.

  • what in god's name is going on here

  • Whom did you say you represent?

  • Did he just say that? Did I hear that right? What is this shit?

  • This is obviously not the voice of Glenn Gould, but is this a quote from somewhere?

It's hilarious if it is. "savage" latin americans. LOLLERCOPTERZ.

  • Well... bullfighting is not typicall latin-american, it was brought from spain, and eve so it isn't as popular as it is in spain. And yes... it's a bad fake discriminating video!!!

  • fake! goddamned discriminating fake vid

  • your mom.

  • and the world would be better off without you taking up the space. Go shoot yourself.

  • Those of you who LACK KNOWLEDGE but possess a great deal of typical human defectiveness -like Mr. Gould - can't stand it when someone speaks the truth. Go take a cyanide capsule.

  • you're the defective one, Gould was an incredible person at and away from the piano. So you take your cyanide capsule and shove it up your ass you nothing but a pathetic excuse for a human.

  • The fact is that you have no idea what you're talking about. You are an exemplar of total ignorance - like most people who claim to know something about the music of the master composers. I sense that you'd like to see me dead. That is your choice. Do you know what I'd like to see for you? The replacement of your defective brain cells with good ones, and the repair of your poor, misguided ear. To call YOU pathetic would be a compliment. Your turn.

  • Oh I forgot to mention - I'm an android.

  • Thank you so much for clearing that up. Now I can get on with my life. I am eternally grateful to you.

  • thank you
