This is such an amazing introduction to avantgarde jazz. I'd highly recommended it to anyone interested in the genre. After this you can't help but want The Albert Alyer Trio, Don Cherry, John Coltrane, Ornette Coleman, Eric Dolphy, Charles Mingus & Miles Davis.
@Backatwon,Tell me about those lyrics!!.lol..Fontella drops them so smoothly, their strange & erotic nature just seems to gels perfectly,...especially when ones riding high on the infectious groove… Love it all!..Cheers!
song loses much magnificence if I'm really led to believe the lyric in question is 'fart'. listening you can clearly hear the --CK and not --RT. song becomes a stale parody with fart and not --CK. the --CK, for me, makes the song, partly with how she proclaims it. would be nowhere near the same emotion/tone if she were saying fart...
@youaintugly ,..I fail to hear how the magnificence of this tune can be lost in a four letter word! This tune is far deeper than a mis-quote!
With respect, might I suggest you be less pedantic and just hold on tight and let the magnificent groove seep through your skin and tickle your bones. Works for me every time!
The four letter word in question is "fork".
