What a great memory! I was one of those "mud people" in the pit. It was fabulous. We were all so slippery, rubbing together...very hot. I even had mud in my eyelashes and in my ears. How does that happen! Being a 5'2" 21 year old girl, the pit can be a challange, but it was a surprisingly gentle crowd in that if you fell, someone would help you up instead of kicking you. Wearing steel-toed boots probably helped me too.
