Even if someone in front was on the brakes, it happens that vehicles slow down sometimes, and you need to be looking forward to see it.
According to the motion of the bike, It seems that seeing the 2nd guy braking, he blocked his front brakes what made his front wheel slip and then then an awesome crash. Lack of experience I'd say

Watch closely on the second run of this, even use the pause button as it all happens so quick..
@ 8secs, #3 is just coming into frame, looking in his mirror, missing the fact the other 2 have started to slow up for some unexpected reason.
@ 9secs, the brakelight on bike #2 is on, #3 still checking his mirror.
@ 10secs, it's too late,
#1 has slowed (he even looks back), seems to have pulled in to allow #2 to overtake,
#2 slowed (braked) and stayed wide, leaving #3 nowhere to go.
