Seriously, you can ride street and 'well' but your scared of dirt. I find that a bit weird. Not meaning to course offense just I'm the total opposite, but we have shit street where I live so whatever.

As for tips, find a skate park, preferably with a spine, volcano or some hips and learn to air over those. If you find a park with a jump box, even better. Learn to clear that, find some dirt jumps of similar size and you'll be flying If you can ride park, you can ride dirt.
