One thing you have over other Drummers, is your METER is SICK!!!. no matter what syncopation, Chops, breaks, ad-libs you're doing, you're meter never falters...or at least not that I can tell. This is the best compliment I can give ANY drummer, and I just gave it. Nice job. BTW is that a roland Trigger pad-cymbal above your hats? or just a splash...

That really depends on what your band and you agree on. I think the higher end kits can handle the gig...but will it settle well with the people you have to play with. I have played in some rock bands that it went well in...and not in others. BzB :-)

Crazy foot Bazy!...I regularly sit in with a house band that ALLWAYS calls this one when I'm up...for some reason. Then they try to morph it into "superstition"......THEY DON'T GO TOGETHER!....so I have to play it ...um...a little differently than I would normally.

I only bring this up because of your other commentor not understanding of necessity to adapt to ones venue.

Just so you know...I play to the style of the area and the band that I am playing for. Around here it is common for people to want to see and hear busy playing. It is what we refer to as the Beach Market. People play music differently depending on the location and You have to be prepared to see music played differently than you may be used to. I can conform to playing this song straight from the record...but in this market it would be the end of my career. Thanks for writing. BzB :-)

great stuff but i personally am not a fan when you're too busy with the crashes. Use the splash with a snare shot on the "E" of 4 or open hi-at on 1 instead of just playing crash. I know that's the way the song might flow but change it up.

Yes...there is much debate over brand names and what is better. I always go with what I think sounds good...and I do not always stick with just one brand. I have a mixture of stuff that I play too. Why limit yourself with total brand loyalty. Some companies make one thing good but not the other. I stick to what I think sounds good and not what other people think. Truth be told, if I could afford it, I would have mostly top line Paiste cymbols.. BzB :-)

You must not play professionally bernie236...Most bands would fire you in a heartbeat if you stay noodling on the toms all night. What songs do you listen to that have toms beating away throughout the song? Maybe a few...but not songs like this one. bernie 236, you only use toms for drum fills, 90 pecent of songs are hihat (sometimes other cymbals) and bass and snare, some people dont even have toms on there drumset, and still sound great
