please look at my sweet mom' story. Mary Ruth Smith tv. abused and over medicated. please look me up on FB, or call me at 423 735-7770. this is a true sad story...
They go after Drug Dealers with extreme prejudise, but they turn a blind eye to the Pharmacutical companys which are the new drug dealers, forcing/pushing the drugs on doctors, turning them into pushers. It's all about the money. The truest saying is that "Their is no profit in peace or welness" They won't be happy until they have the entire populaces on drugs - and on as many pills as possible.
I have been "poisoned" for 14 years with Paxil after a post-traumatic shock depression. After consulting info on internet and with the help of a close friend, I decided to stop the drug gradually over a period of 4 months. Went cold-turkey and went through a scary period. Now am FREE from it and take natural supplements (Seredyn) to help me sleep when I get tense. But one can be cured with the help of behavioural Cognitive Therapy and bio food. But the withdrawal was really horrible.
@mandyland76 The idea that the brain chemistry is unbalanced and needs to be rebalanced by medications has been totally disproved. That lie was pushed by pharmaceutical companies to sell drugs. Current studies have shown that brain chemistry becomes unbalanced AFTER taking psych drugs. Also, studies have shown that people experiencing severe depression or schizophrenia that did not take medications did BETTER long term than those that did. Dr. Kim West
You got to see his point, farmers pump so much crap over their food/animals and we are eating it, it's gotta be making a detrimental effect on our bodies.
I'm in my 30's, and i don't know many people my age who haven't been depressed at some point in their lives, most of this is due to life and social issues, which i don't agree prescribing drugs for, this needs cognitive therapy and healing.
i want to kill any doctor that believes in psychiatric medicine. do you really think that the brain is so simple that you could just add chemicals to fix its problems? the brain is the closest thing to magic in this whole universe, adding chemicals to it is like carpet bombing it and hoping for a good result. brain docs are fucking nerds who want to believe they made scientific breakthroughs with their harsh chemicals but really they havent done shit. these fucks should be lined up and shot.
@NMoulana ... woah! pretty harsh but I definitely understand where you are coming from considering I am currently withdrawing from SSRI's after nearly 10 years!
very true, and yet... when you'r sad, tasty stuff makes you happy... so you keep going back.. it's easy, your sad, you don't want to work for anything..
@DIEgestit - I whole heartedly agree with you! They should be damn well ashamed of themselves for accepting all those 'sweeteners' for accepting all of the propaganda churned out by big Pharma! I sincerely hope that one day there will be a massive class action against big pharma companies such as Pfizer, Roche and Eli Lilly!
@DIEgestit Would you really rather believe this guy who is obviously out to get the mainstream medical community? I'm sorry but if you have had a traumatic experience, bad relationship, whatever etc., and are clinically depressed, or have serious social anxiety, you're not going to get better by eating lots of turkey or organic food. Put your trust in people who have devoted their life's work to this field. Not every doctor is a sellout, and this is the best treatment available currently.
@mscanza It's not the best treatment. Look up Irving Kirsch's work. Retrospectively it's been found that antidepressant drugs are no better than placebo for mild to moderate depression. And you CAN get better from a bout of depression or anxiety by eating better and feeding your brain nutritious things. The mainstream medical community has been hijacked by drug companies who are making a ton of money off of us... your trust is misplaced.
Basic truths:: good whole foods, fresh air, clean water, exercise, adaquate sleep and a positive attutude. And yet like you say, so much is processed food. chemicals are in things we do not know about. Drugs are being found in our drinking water, people are stressed out from the ecomony and jobs. GMO foods are taking over our farming industry. Rx drugs are being pushed through the media. It is so sad that the basics are so hard to get. The advise is so true, but it's getting so hard to find!

People who suffer mental illness, however, need to take medication to keep them stable, because the neurotransmitters are not working properly.
People are all too ready to pop a pill to make the pain go away without actually facing the problem.
There are 2 kinds of depression - Biological - the brain does not function as it should, drugs necessary to balance chemicals
Social depression - bad experiences through life, abuse, heartbreak etc etc, you do not need to take SSRI's, face the problem!

Doctors need to face up to the responsibility of the harm they have caused to so many people and an apology would be a good start.

Okay, what you say here is agreeable but doesn't go with the title.
It will also take more than a you tube broadcast to get through to people.
it's not enough and it's definitely not enough to compensate for all the damaged lives caused by doctors prescribing drugs blindly.

Yep, I saw the film Super Size Me. A cautionary tale indeed!
Question: Does taking DHEA help with SSRI withdrawals?
I don't take SSRI medications but I'm curious if it helps people,
