  • great i would love to see a video on the bebook neo handling pdfs

  • thats rubbish this technology is still primitive. it has massive potential and there is a market for it besides everything else that is out there but it is still to slow and clumsy.

  • fkeopfkeop, I'm so sorry - I think I just accidentally deleted your comment "Is it possible to convert your pdf's to another type of document that the readers supports better? "

Yes, you could use an app like Calibre but any graphs, schematics, or formulas, etc. would likely get messed up. Some of the newer ereaders are better than the Sony at handling PDF. I have the Bebook Neo which is much better. Unfortunately I broke the screen, when I get it back I'll do a video with it.

  • It is junk at handling PDF files. The iPhone has a much smaller screen, but my PDFs still look more impressive. These things aren't cheap, so you're probably just better off buying a cheaper end of the market laptop. iPad will possibly kill these things off, as an 11 year old could make something more impressive with empty cereal boxes and old toilet rolls.

  • I'll make sure to check it when it comes out. Thanks a lot for the advice.

  • How good would you say it is at handling PDF files?. I'm thinking about buying it but I've heard is not that good when it comes to PDFs. Since that's what I'll be mostly using it for (medical articles and books mostly) I would like to know from someone who's tried it for that particular purpose. Thank you.

  • Hi Shinshoryu. I posted my PRS600 PDF experiences on my blog at findebookreaders. Basically, for PDF files with little or no graphics the Sony Touch should be fine. With graphic rich files it should be ok for limited viewing, but reading a whole book with lots of graphics could get pretty tedious with this ereader. The new iRex coming out end of this month may be a viable alternative. I plan to review it when it comes out. Cheers

  • I'll buy it when they can get rid of the reflective screen.

The 505 and 300 models have a greater clarity.

Yes the 600 is the better model and the 700 the better still.

But I'd much prefer the screen of the 505/300. Perhaps a non-touch 605 model. I could do with a dictionary and memory expansion, but there's absolutely no need for mp3's.
