This song is the theme song for the New Zealand Police, which when you think about it, is really appropriate. I worked there for a while so listening to it reminded me of those times. I must say, you remind me of Stephen King, he constantly churns out amazing new novels (how does he keep doing it?). You are the same with the hits. Shaun, you know the old story about the "master's hand"; an old violin was put up for auction, but no one would bid on it until an expert violinist played it; whereupon, the old thing sold for a fortune! Perhaps even a cheapie from Ebay can be enhanced by "a master!" Although, frankly, I've found I could buy things cheaper from Amazon.com and without the bidding charade there. Anyway keep up the good work; and that guitar does have a great sound when taken in the arms of a crafty Englishman!

This is a real terrific lesson on how to arrange for solo guitar: highlighting the melody notes with dynamics, arpegiating lightly in the background to keep time, plus all the other terrific articulation... Great!

May I ask how long it takes you to come down with an arrangement like this?

@llaaoopp Thanks :-) it's not a particularly long process, just a question of adding the melody to the chords, and trying to honour a bass line as you go. Finding the right key for an arrangement is important, so I usually try more than one key and see which one works best.
