@Nachash91 i dont use anything other than what is on the camcorder its self. i think there is something in sony vegas that will improve it a bit but it does take a while to do. i will look into it.

@chrisc74 in sony vegas movie studio if you right click the video clip there is a stabilize media option. this will help to stabilize the video clip.

@chrisc74 as far as pocket cameras goes, I like Panasonic (lumix series) and Sony. So I trust in those 2 brands for video-cameras too. I've found terrible that you have to turn the bloggie (touch at least) to get wide HD image, instead of being like the others, but the sound (in LOUD conditions) is pretty well, for a concert as instance. Video too. Not-so-slow autofocus.

I wanna get a Panasonic HM-TA1, not so good sound, but pretty image and lens' angle. And I think you can add an external mic.

@itsLean the panasonic ta1 is a good camcorder but it doesnt have the mic input. the kodak playtouch and zi8 do. the bloggies are good. not sure about the recent ones. i would like to get hold of one and test it. panasonic have a newer range out which do an ok job. also the samsung w200 has good low light and sound.

@chrisc74 I personally dont trust in Samsung... :/ Anyway, after writing that comment, I checked out some video tests of the HMTA1 and I was wrong I guess. All of them seem to show that it has not a pretty image definition actually.

I like the auto-focus of the bloggies, because the fixed focus kinda suck..

About Kodak, I have a zi6 (something old), well now its broken lol, it has a pretty well sound, but terrible lens' angle, I hate that..

I would like to try the PlayFull. Did you check it?

great comparison! you can REALLY tell the difference in audio quality in the first 80 seconds of this video. the audio from the flip sounds the best by far. but the video is better from the bloggie. this is really turning out to be a tough decision for me.

@sylverville37 i havent tested the new bloggie touch. i havent been that impressed with the new bloggie. it still has low light issues and the first bloggie touch has a problem with the recording. the ta2 i have asked panasonic if they will send me one to review. havent heard anything yet. but i am not sure if its out yet. out of all the new ones the ta2 is the one i am most interested in.

Sony Bloggie has the best sound.

Flip is junk.

Kodak Playsport is the best choice due to the far superior video quality and the number of video choices to fit your needs, 1080P, 720, 720 60 frames/sec, 480.

The Kodak looks more accurate indoors than the Bloggie, but the Bloggie's increased amber output outdoors gives everything a richer and more comfortable hue. Not to mention that the Bloggie's sound just knocks the rest of the cameras for a loop. No contest - Bloggie is best. As for the Flip, which used to be considered hot stuff a few years back - it looks like something you found in a garbage bin!

I was hoping to find something like my Nokia N8 camera, because it is good but it cost battery and what good is a dead cellphone? So I need a dedicated cam and the zi8 is just pocket size prefect. Thanks for the great review. I have a quick question. Does the brand of the SDHC card make a difference in the quality of the video taken? I just purchased the Kodak ZX3 and it takes great videos while watching it on play back. But when I connect it to my HD TV with the HDMI cable provided, it doesnt look all that great.

um i like to film skateboarding and just funny videos with my friends. i was going to get either the bloggie or the canon sd 1400is, but now the playsport is a definite option. im kind of new to the filming world so which one should i get?

@COOKIE4TEHWOOKIE if you are going to use it while skateboarding then i would get the playsport. the gadget show dropped the playsport from 80 feet out of a helicopter and it still worked. so i think it would be a better choice if you need a more tougher camcorder.

looks like the playsport is the sharpest to me, but the sound is pissy, the bloggie's color is awesome which is a plus, but it looks slightly blurred to me... but i assume that going to 1080p will let it's real colors shine, the Bloggie obviously has the best mic out of the 3 but the Flip's isn't anywhere near as bad as the playsport. I'm unsure of the prices but it'd be a tossup between the flip and the bloggie for me.

@GwillE100 thats a tough one. it depends how dark it will be. most pocket camcorders will not do very well with out any light. the ta-1 has a flash but i dont think it would help much. the playsport i think has the best low light i have seen. but i havent tried all of the camcorders. the flip ultra hd 1st and 2nd gen are ment to be the best. fishycomics might have some ideas. you should ask him as well

@suyay1 i would say the zi8 with a stereo mic or wait a few weeks for the playtouch. i am hoping to get hold of one when they come out. the playsport out of the 3 was the only one you could change the mic volume. but the zi8/playtouch you would get better audio with an external mic.

@davestynes kodak may be right. i will have to do a test on mine. i have noticed in the past after using the camera for a long period of time that it does get hot. but then the flip mino and zi8 used to get hot as well. i will check it out.

@MrBLACKNINJA510 the sony bloggie is probably the best out of the two but it has focusing problems in low light. the mino is very basic and the field of view is smaller. the playsport is the best one out of the three. if you want macro and a external mic then the zi8 would be a good choice

Nice review. Thanks for taking the time. My impressions:

Playsport had overall better color saturation. Flip comes next because colors looked washed out (i.e. grass and dirt contrast). Last is Bloggie because colors looked artificial and images are less sharp. Sound is best with Bloggie, followed by Flip, and lastly Playsport. For the money, I'd get the Playsport. It also takes still photos at 5MP, which is slightly better than cellphone pics.

what a disappointment. you should have zoomed all three cams to show digital zoom sucks, period. moreover, flip can't do 1080p. what is so good about 720p? you can't even buy 720p monitors or digital tv anymore. it's all 1080p and now pushing for 1080/60p. you and i know flip can't. about loading the file... install JAVA6 update20 and you can load big files without losing everything. i had same experience where my isp dropped uploading in the middle and had to start over. use youtube's advanced

@simonghill i know i keep saying how good the playsport is. but i think the playsport did the best job as far as keeping to the actual colour. the flip seamed to have to much colour and the bloggie was similar but not as bad. but the bloggie still had the focus issue. i am always glad to help you guys out by doing these tests.

The playsport looks pretty good and wider angle too, I have a flip Mino myself but never use it. If you test it on landscape shots you'll notice it has aberrations, The horizon goes curvey.
