i love their cover of elder curry's memphis flu, but murder by mistletoe is one of the best songs ive ever heard...49 years old and these boys make me feel 19.
i am absolutely obsessed with them right now... farley played me at the last show, he tried to convince me he wasn't in the band... maybe i was just acting dumb, who knows?

I truly think the Felice Brothers are one of the best bands in the world right now - It's always the same with the best artists, no one has ever heard of them. GOD DAMN SHAME.
Yey yep Drummer, Singer/Guitar and Accordeon players are blood brothers: Simon, Ian and James Felice.... but hey.... they are all brothers... so is Christmas and Farley!
Simon is now very active in The Duke and the King... Cheers indeed!
Cheers. I went on Simone Felice's website, the drummer. He's a very interesting person and very creative. He's playing in my area this Sat so I think I will try to go.
@ladywharton As far as I know, the accordion player and the guitar player are brothers. The third brother used to play the drums (as this video is from 2008, he's the one who plays the pot :D), but he left the band about a year ago.
@kellytheinsistor Agreed...God, how I love these boys...This is actually the only band I've made an effort to see more than once...I wish I could just follow them everywhere they go, because no two shows are ever alike...
it makes me laugh everytime i watch this how Ian and Simone try and finish up the song twice (Memphis flu) but the others are oblivious and carry on guess it sums up the anarchic and fun spirit of this unpredictable and brilliant band as for murder by mistletoe well it is poetry and makesmy heart ache..
Actually they are BETTER live than people describe. I have seen HUNDREDS, if not, thousands of bands in my lifetime.. this band is one of the best live bands I've EVER seen...
I'm not kidding... that includes other folk/country/blues bands, punk bands, metal, mainstream rock, jazz... you name.
I love Simone playing the Pot when the people I would jam with we made everyone particapate by playing or singing so pots & pans always made it in. These guy's have what it takes to make great music --- HEART & SOUL ---
this is getting me so excited for when they come to philly in august. i saw them in april in ny and i contemplated. taking an early vacation and following them for a few dates. but sigh, i decided to be responsible and go back to work the next day. ive been to hundreds of concerts in my life and that was easily top 3. if you havent seen them, they are touring this summer and go go go. i promise theyre well worth it
I agree, soulsong47, I also hope they don't get "discovered." Keep 'em small and unpolished. I love that rough edge they have now. And they're nice humble guys, so I doubt that aspect of them will ever change.
The worst that can happen is they'll get a crappy album overproduced by Don Was (sorry Old Crow). But let's keep our fingers crossed he never gets his hands on them.
