It's a tie between this, "Jawbone and The Air Rifle", "Hip Priest", "Barmy", "Gut Of The Quantifier", "Repetition", and "The Classical" for the title of my favorite Fall song.
@rebelVHS Hey Littelest rebel of them all!. How many times have you put out this same request on so many Fall vids?. Its truly getting annoying. See ya mate
I think this is a truly beautiful poem about finding your personal liberation in a grimy pub. The melody sits so well with the atmosphere of a smoky pub on a rainy afternoon in northern England: Juke box, slot machine, blue haze, taxi for Mr Nelson, lounge, drinkers from the slaughterhouse. I really love this song because the individual comes shining through the gloom of every day dreariness.
woke up this morning singing this for some reason (haven't heard it in about 15 years), thought i'd see if it was on you tube, great, thanks fallfanuk. great song.

Is there anyone who still hasn't heard 'Cheap Space Chant' ?
In YouTube, search for 'Timekode, Mark E Smith'
and listen to the strangest and best MES/Fall
collaboration of them all...

@topcat90 yes .. note lack of irony .. some roots and a cactus .. something to say, not always easy to hear .. essential !!
