Jerry played everything over the top, but Dean was funny, too. Back then, over the top got the attention. Jerry was great, but Dean's demeanor made Jerry great, and Jerry knew it.

Really funny he ended up doing the telethon for people he actually MADE FUN OF in his acts over the years. Jerry Lewis wouldn't have done sh**t without DINO

I think they were absolutely great together, both were fantastic talents, but from what I know, Jerry was the favorite of the public, he always got more attention, and Dean that's why Dean got frustrated... and yes, the fact that it was said he couldn't have a career without Jerry.. And they're not saying here that Jerry always stood up for him and said that he himself couldn't have made it without Dean.
