@wickweak I have the same problem! Mine is the quality of my violin I am getting a new one soon. Also it could be that you are applying too much pressure to the bow. Loosen up. Hope this helps :)

Oh my goodness I would LOVE to be able to play that song on a violin the violin is my favorite instrument then the guitar comes in second then Piano comes in third. You play wonderfully I wish I could have learned how to play violin when I was younger so I could play Harry Potter music now since that would be a dream of mine. this is not as hard Not saying it aint succesful but your never too late to learn how to play a violin if you think of it as hard your never gonna be succesful and you wont learn it but if you think of it as a challenge You will succed and Learn how to play the violin to learn that theme song would just take 5 weeks to know it off ehad and fluently without any mistakes so

It will be very hard and you will be frustrated many times over. Those that want it bad enough will get through it. It takes years just to get the basics right. Probably around a decade before you can play decently on the violin. Of course that depends on your capabilities and the amount of time you practice each day.

@tubbie0075 well, i just started playing violin one month ago. i've got some experience in playin guitar drums and piano, so it wasnt so hard for me to learn it. it took me just these few weeks to learn the very basics, like bowing and hitting the notes quite correctly. it all depends on your study, knowledge and the fun u have :)

but ye, i think u can't do such a song in only 1 year or sth

But I would say if you are a "normal person" that haven´t played any instruments before, one month. This is a easy song... Look at Devils Trill by Tartini there you got some challenge!

I believe you can play the entire piece in first position.

When you are playing in an orchestra, the leaders of each string section decide the bowing and fingering (including shifts) so that when the music is performed, the sound is consistent and synchronised visually.

When you perform as soloist, you decide what is best. Usually the decision is for musical reasons, but sometimes technical as well. There are no "set" way to play a piece. If every violinist plays the same way, it'll be boring.

I don't think you'll get professionel, because you play more like like a Roboter than a Musican, you need to play with more Soul and Songs which are more difficult, cause "Hedwigs Theme' is really easy to play. But I think it was quiet Ok.
