  • @TheMetalguitarguy Well, if you could brand moonshine that takes your eyes out...

  • any idea where i can get a violin sheet for this song?

  • @WRBaffler I found it on Songsterr. There's an instrument drop-down menu where you can find the two violin tracks. It's written in tab notation, but I hope it's useful anyway. ^_^

  • @Tuntenut tab for violin doesn't work very well :P. Anyway, I wrotte the score myself.

  • @lundvalnaden - how gay can it be when you know about it? ^_^ Oh wait ^_^

Also, this is an amazing track - love it <3

  • this has to be one of my favorite songs it`s just plain simply amazing

  • This tune is fantastic. Korpiklaani is just amazing, thanks for coming to Metalfest in Hungary! I'll never forget your show!

  • i love it ^_^ its a little bit too slow, but i cant stop hearing it

  • Korpiklaani is what you would get if you gave Tolkien's dwarves electric guitars.

  • @TodKriegsohn HAHAH! That is only so true, I hadn't thought of it. Have you seen the animated Hobbit movie? That has some excellent music in it.

  • Amazing song , I love korpiklaani they are the best group !!!

  • Pellonpekko (Field Pekko) was ancient Finnish pagan god of grain, growth and of course... beer. For me it's the most important god, he's all about fun and life, like Greeks' Dionysos. This song pictures it perfectly. Thanks Korpiklaani and the gods!

  • when i go to war this will be my tune

  • finish guys - respect for having a god of fermentation and dedicating a folk-metal song to him!!! :D:D:D:D:D

  • this is not peta or suzuki, its balance like natives, burn wood n eat game, but the profiteers should hang.

  • tap your toes, the north will decide.

  • what are other instrumental songs with folk sound like this? ones this good are so damn hard to find, suggestions would be nice thanks

  • so pretty this song :$

  • God of the harvest. "Pellonpekko jyvät antoi" or something like that with Mikael Agricola's berating of the people that are "possessed to believe in such things." I don't believe in either, but his berating does give historic evidence of the survival of our original religion up to the times when Lutheran shit was going on.

  • The reason why Elias Lönnrot had to go to Karelia to find the poems in Kalevala was actually simple. He had to find them where the christian church had least done harm to them. There are a lot of songs in Kalevala where the influence of the christian church had changed them, and still Lönnrot was too much a man of his time, so he got a lot of it wrong, but he basically didn't use any kind of scientific method, just his gut feeling when composing Kalevala.

  • Happy music. Good! ^^

  • excellent!

  • @acerb45666555 *guitar riff*

  • whats that instuments that sounds like a cartoon kangaroo jumping??

  • @TheBeairdManCometh it starts at 2:22

  • @TheBeairdManCometh its called a jawharp

its a pretty weird instrument you put to your teeth and play it.

you should look it up on youtube ^^

  • @Metaalhoofdje123 thanks bro! thanks for the yoik by the way! this song is friggin AWESOME!

  • @Metaalhoofdje123 I always thought it was scottish bagpipe. s

But sounds like a bagpipe, because there's a pedal note sounding behind. Or perhaps they recorded it twice. I should see some live versions. xD

  • @Metaalhoofdje123 Live they play the pedal note with the accordion and the main riff with the violin. Odd. But great! =D

  • @Metaalhoofdje123

    It's a Jawharp.

  • @Metaalhoofdje123 also known as a Jew's harp. nonetheless. fricken awesome instrument :) always thought it was pronounced as "juice harp" :)

  • @TheBeairdManCometh hahahaha fuckin jumping kangaroos, LOL

  • @TheBeairdManCometh

    or maybe diđiridu

  • @15kol i cant play those things to save my life. lol the the low notes i can hit, but when it comes to the didge, im challenged

  • @gorsok indeed, that seems to be the late motif in your life

  • @TheBeairdManCometh dikaridu XD

  • @TheBeairdManCometh in my country this is called TROMPE or "arpa bucal", i don´t now what mean in english.

  • @TheBeairdManCometh Hahahahahah!!! That is the BEST description of a Jawharp!!!

  • @TheBeairdManCometh Yeah, but, kangaroos don't make that sound when they jump. LOL!

  • @TheBeairdManCometh Hi, I guess it's a jaw's harp. i'm not sure if this instrument is very popular, i had to translate it on leo.org :P

  • THis song never fails to lift my spirits no matter what. Ahhhh~

Though my older sister heard me playing it, looked confused, and asked if this band was made up of Shire hobbits.

  • <33

  • What you hear is no jew's harp but a jouhikko!!

  • @Hikk0 i never said it was different from finnish ;)

  • fucking awesome!!!!

  • Does any one know what that instrument is at 2:23?

  • The one in the background

  • @InsaAhromee : this is a jaw's harp (or jew's harp, mouth harp, ozark harp), one of the oldest instruments in the world :)

  • Jotenki tulee vaan nii isänmaalline fiilis...kylä oon ylpee olla suomalainen!

  • seen them in Edmonton a few years back. I have never seen a band so eager to play and smile and please the crowd. BEST live show I have ever seen. I would love to see them at an open-air show

  • wat is dit toch geweldige muziek:)

  • lol this song sounds like its irish or some relating nation

  • @awesomeakki17 It's Scandinavian folk ;)

  • lol i know, its just sounds like it

  • @Metaalhoofdje123 actually Jarrko and Jonne said in an interview @ Rock Harz festival that geologically speaking Finland isn't part of Scandinavia

  • @awesomeakki17 il tell you why that is, back in the days of the viking's conquest they actually owned Ireland and Scotland for over 100 years, enough to heavily influence celtic culture. Celtic music is heavily influenced by Scandinavian music.

  • @mortum000 there are very distinct differences but never the less this is why people often get the 2 mixed up

  • @awesomeakki17

that's because, as far as I know, they all have celtic origins, but if someone know better, correct me, as I don't want to say something stupid

  • @BurianAttila

I`m pretty sure Finns don`t have celtic origins.

  • @BurianAttila Noo!! Not Celtic.. Scandinavians are a germanic people, and the finnish are an ugric people, wich is more related to hungarians and baltics than the germanic scandinavians, but being a part of Sweden for 900 years has pretty much absorbed the Finnish into Scandinavian culture, yet they still got their own languge. Concerning the Celts i agree with what "mortum000" wrote above.

  • @awesomeakki17 .....its very Celtic in its sound!

  • Korpiklaani are the true folk metal band, because they started out as a folk band, and included metal later on. So they know what they're playing. A lot of other folk metal bands just try to imitate folk music.

  • Not just because I'm Finnish, but Korpiklaani are one of the best bands ever. Real talent.

  • Death Punishment is active.

  • Just saw them live Tuesday night. A lot of bands record well but suck live, not Korpiklaani. They were even better live! It was veritably impossible to stand still while listening.

  • yeah, I know, it feels like you're at a big party. Everyone in the pit was line dancing to this song.

    It was damn incredible.

Their live shows are unlike anything you've seen before.

  • Good one.

  • im sitting here, drinking Sailor Jerrys before I go out (which, mixed with coke is the best drink ever) and thinking about how awesome these are gonna be at Bloodstock 2010!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Rainfordmetallica- Got my ticket. They're pretty much the only reason I'm going to Bloodstock. Lots of other good bands, but without Korpiklaani it just wouldn't be worth it.

  • Love it one of my fav songs by them. I love the acoustic wooden feel! Very folky Korpiklaani ftw!!!!!!

  • err.. dude... i dont know what the hell youre talking about! Korpiklaani is pretty much the exact opposite of all that. Most of their lyrics are about partying, booze and old Finnish folklore. And thei music is definately NOT industrial....

  • I think Korpiklaani's got an amazing balance between the Folk and the metal. Their one of the folkiest folk metal bands out there, and i can see why your worried about them taking the metal too far because i love the folk melodies as much as anyone. but Kudos to Korpiklaani for not giving into the industrial path of mainstream metal!

  • @tehpwnzor789 I really like your comment, and I think Korpiklaani's a bit different from other folk metal bands because most of their songs are based in folk songs, finnish, and not on metal or double bass pedal.

  • @tehpwnzor789 i love korpiklaani, but dont you think their single "vodka" is just a little mainstream?? maybe im just loookin too far into it

  • @TheBeairdManCometh Yes it definitely was. That and Keep on Galloping, in which their producers pushed them into the whole voodoo thing for the music video. But overall their remaining pretty true and most of Karkelo wasnt mainstream by any means.

  • You might want to check out Shaman. It's Korpiklaani before they were Korpiklaani.

  • korpiklaani emerged out of the ashes of shaman.

there are just a few members there who founded shaman once.

    but you are right.

  • @Metaalhoofdje123 who said this is industrial?! wow! i like both genres and there is absolutley no similarities . korpiklaani is awesome, they kicked ass live.

  • I think you may have Korpiklaani mixed up with another band. They are nothing like what you describe.

  • LOL do you even know what is Industrial?

  • haha sorry i meant commercial

  • Pellonpekko, the Finn god of agriculture and BEER!

  • @torhjelm So he's the god of drunk farming?

  • *.*

  • with total respect if you add a bodhran this could come from an island a little left of England, and I think it's a homage to the god of beer...Great minds think alike!

Love this song thanks for posting

  • Whoever you're partying with, those guys are your brothers, no matter where they're from.
