Birds sing year around here, most activity is during the spring and fall when birds migrate through here, but in general birds are more active in the winter here than in the summertime.
The only place in San Diego I've ever seen a Northern Cardinal is off Dairy Mart Rd between I-5 and Hollister south of Imperial Beach. They aren't native to this area, they are migrants or somehow displaced individuals. That same area has the Magpie Jays from time to time as well, closer to Hollister st.

This was mostly done within a half hour drive of my house. At Rancho Penasquitos, Imperial Beach, Dairy Mart Road, with the vultures being shot near the Salton Sea. The only shot more than about a half hour from my home is the vultures.

How is the general amount of bird singing throughout the year, in San Diego? Do they still sing as much now in September?
Here in Denmark, most birds are quiet by this time of year.
